On Friday (March 10), Foreign Ministry spokesperson Ms. Mao Ning said that she had paid attention to relevant media reports that her "slander and accusations against China are completely untrue."

(1) The president's request is really ridiculous, and he once said that he was followed and slandered by the personnel of the Chinese embassy!
Micronesia is an island nation in the western Pacific Ocean with a land area of only 702 square kilometers, making it a small country. On Tuesday (March 7), Micronesia held a presidential election, and the current president, Panuelo, lost the election, with just over two months left in office.
As his last struggle before stepping down, Panuelo recently wrote letters to Congress and state governors. In the letter, Panuelo mentions three things:
- Event 1: China's growing influence in the Pacific and the intensifying conflict between China and the United States.
In this regard, the author's historical strategy analysis believes. The reason why Panuelo believes that China's growing influence in the Pacific originated in April 2022. At that time, China signed a bilateral security agreement with the Solomon Islands in the Pacific. Under the security agreement, Chinese transit vessels may dock in the Solomon Islands.

- Event 2: Micronesia prepares to "establish diplomatic relations" with Taiwan and proposes a "handling fee" of $50 million and a package of $15 million a year.

According to Micronesian President Panuelo, last month he met with "Taiwanese Foreign Minister" Wu Zhaoxie to discuss the establishment of "diplomatic relations." During this period, Panuelo proposed to Wu Zhaoxie a one-time fee of US$50 million for the establishment of diplomatic relations. In addition, Taiwan needs to provide $15 million a year to Micronesia.

Where does Panuelo's slander of China begin?

In fact, in recent years, countries like Micronesia have become less and less. Especially since Tsai Ing-wen came to power, in less than 10 years, Taiwan's "countries with diplomatic relations" have decreased by eight, and there are still 14 left.
There are 3 in Central America: Belize, Guatemala and Honduras; 4 in the Caribbean: Haiti, Saint Kitts and Nevis, Saint Lucia and Saint Vincent and Grenadine; 4 Pacific countries: Marshall Islands, Nauru, Palau, Tuvaru; South America 1 country: Paraguay; 1 African Eswatini; 1 European country: Vatican.
The last time Taiwan "diplomatic relations" broke off diplomatic relations with it dates back to 2021. At that time, the Nicaraguan Ministry of Foreign Affairs declared that there is only one China in the world and Taiwan is an inalienable part of China. With the issuance of diplomatic statements, only the above 14 "countries with diplomatic relations" remained in Taiwan.

1. When will you be able to "shave your head" for Taiwan? The key is in the United States!
Counting the above 14 Taiwan "countries with diplomatic relations," almost all of them have two things in common. 1. It is far from China and has almost no trade with China. 2. Close to the United States, or belong to the sphere of influence of the United States.
First, because these countries are far from China, there is less trade with China. Therefore, even if they "offend" China, it will not affect them at all. Second, the above-mentioned countries are basically in the sphere of influence of the United States, and they need to see the face of the United States.
For example, in the Pacific Ocean, the four countries that have "established diplomatic relations" with Taiwan: the Marshall Islands, Nauru, Palau and Tuvaru, have signed security agreements with the United States since 1960. Under the terms of the agreement, the United States undertakes postal, weather forecasting, air traffic control and emergency management services for these countries. In return, the United States has military, intelligence and telecommunications access to these countries.

2. Most of the "countries with diplomatic relations" that have announced the severance of diplomatic relations with Taiwan are also caused by the rupture of relations with the United States.
In November 2021, Nicaragua held a presidential election, and because the ultimate winner was not the one supported by the United States. Unexpectedly, the United States took the lead in refusing to recognize the results of the Nicaraguan election, which caused the deterioration of relations between Nicaragua and the United States. In the end, Nicaragua chose to sever diplomatic relations with Taiwan.
Another example is Honduras, Central America, where presidential candidate Castro has publicly stated that if elected president, he will consider "severing diplomatic relations" with Taiwan. After the news broke, the United States immediately sent high-ranking officials to meet Castro's opponents in an attempt to suppress Castro. In the end, Castro was pressured to assure the United States that he would not "sever diplomatic relations" with Taiwan, and Castro was elected president of Honduras.
From Nicaragua to Honduras, all of them embody the hegemonic politics of the United States and wantonly interfere in the internal affairs of other countries. Accordingly, when will it be possible to shave Taiwan's "bald head"? The number of its "countries with diplomatic relations" will be zero, and the focus will not be on Taiwan, but on the United States.
