The island of Madagascar "Xinji" refers to the karst limestone hills in the Xingi de Bemalaha Nature Reserve on the island of Madagascar on the southeast coast of Africa. The Singi de Bemaraha Nature Reserve is located about 300 km west of Antananarivo, the capital of Madagascar, and covers an area of 1,520 square kilometres.

The vast majority of the Xinji Nature Reserve is made up of rugged karst limestone and is part of the Bemalaha Plateau.

To the east of the reserve is the steep Belmaraha cliff three to four hundred meters above the river valley, stretching for tens of kilometers in a north-south direction; To the west of the reserve is a gentle slope, and the entire area forms a circular hill-like plateau; To the north of the reserve are rolling limestone hills; To the south, there is a knife-like karst formation, which is difficult to access.

Thousands of years of heavy rains have washed away the soft parts of the rocks, leaving behind cones, spikes and ridges, often eroded into thin slices. When rainwater seeps into the crevices, many rocks are dissolved into caves. Most of the flora and fauna in the reserve are endemic to the place, such as leopard-striped chameleons and ring-tailed lemurs.

The stone forest in Xinji Nature Reserve is the largest stone forest in the world, famous for its strangeness, steepness and danger.
