On March 9, Beijing time, the Suns defeated the Thunder 132-101. During pre-game training, Durant accidentally slipped and officially announced that he missed the game with a sore ankle. After the game, according to Suns reporter Duane Rankin, Durant had put on protective boots. Soon, another Suns reporter, Greg Moore, reported that there were internal Suns fears that Durant had suffered a second-degree sprain and could be out for up to six weeks, resulting in regular-season reimbursement.

Durant accidentally slipped during pregame training and suffered ankle soreness and missed the game. However, he did not leave the court immediately after the injury, and continued a simple shooting practice on the court before returning to the locker room. After training, Durant's ankle developed swelling. The Suns started tentatively as follows: Paul, Booker, Craig, Okogie, Ayton. Before the post-game media interview, Durant left the arena early. It is reported that he has put on protective boots.

According to reporter Greg Moore, the Arizona Republic has learned that there are concerns within the team that Durant has suffered a second-degree sprain, and second-degree sprains generally need to be missed for 4-6 weeks. This is clearly bad news for the sun.

The Suns' last regular-season game is on April 10, and if Durant suffers a second-degree sprain, it means he could miss the rest of the regular season or miss the start of the playoffs.
