The ancients believed that there would be signs before major events, especially ominous signs, which were often fulfilled, such as breaking the flagpole before the expedition, indicating that the Lord would be killed. "Romance of the Three Kingdoms" and "Water Margin" have such stories.

In the Romance of the Three Kingdoms, Sun Jian was instigated by Yuan Shu, and wanted to avenge Liu Biao's previous obstruction of his national jade seal, and insisted on sending troops to attack Liu Biao.
The seventh time, Sun Jian sent troops, first all the way smoothly, directly to the city of Xiangyang, surrounded Liu Biao in the city, and launched a siege of the city, but at this time, the vision appeared ——
Suddenly, a fierce wind rose and blew the flagpole of the Chinese army.
Han Dang said, "This is not an auspicious omen, but you can temporarily take the class." Jian Yue: "I have won many battles and victories, and I have only taken Xiangyang at the end of the night; how can I break the flag pole because of the wind, and strike the army!" So he didn't listen to Han Dang's words, and the siege became more and more urgent.
Qu Liang said of Liu Biao: "One night when I looked at the sky, I saw a star falling. To divide the wilderness, it should be in Sun Jian. ”
Sun Jian was stubborn, did not listen to Han Dang's words, and acted arbitrarily, "will not lead the generals, only more than thirty horses to come", the result was ambushed by the enemy, died on the battlefield -
Jianfang wanted to go up the mountain, when suddenly a gong sounded, the stones on the mountain fell chaotically, and arrows were fired in the forest. Stones, arrows, brain plasma burst out of the body, and people and horses all died in Da Nang Mountain. He died at the age of thirty-seven.
It is a pity that Sun Jian, who was in his prime, died of a light enemy and ventured forward, but objectively speaking, he also achieved his grandson Strategy, Sun Quanshao, and a hero. This is not to be mentioned later.
In "Water Margin", Chao Gai listened to Daizong's rumors, saying that the five tigers of the Zeng family told Ichijing Xiao'er to sing "Sweep the Liangshan Qingshui Po, eliminate Chao Gai on Tokyo!" Capture the rain in time, catch the wisdom of many stars alive", he was furious and insisted on personally conquering Zengtou City.
The fifty-ninth time said that Chao Gai ordered twenty leaders and personally led the three armies, and swore an oath at the Golden Beach to march, not wanting to see a vision in the sky——
Song Jiang, together with Wu Yong and Gongsun Shengzhong, went on a journey to the golden beach under the mountain. Between drinking, a fierce wind suddenly blew up, and the newly made recognition flag of Chao Gai was blown half way around his waist. When the crowd saw it, they all lost their color. ”
After that, Wu Yong and Song Jiang both said that this was an ominous omen, and advised Chao Gai not to act rashly, to no avail.
In Zengtou City, the Liangshan army encountered frequent accidents, and even incidents of treacherous sending false information occurred. Chao Gai did not listen to Lin Chong's persuasion, led the lone army to venture in late at night, and unfortunately fell into an ambush——
Less than a hundred and ten steps, I saw the golden drums sounding in unison, shouting and shaking, and all I could see were torches. Chao Gaizhong led the army to take the road and go, only to turn two corners, knock out a Biao army horse, when the head of the random arrow shot into the future, unexpectedly an arrow, right in the face of Chao Gai, knocked down the horse; but Hu Yanzhuo and Yan Shun two horses, died and will go, behind Liu Tang, Bai Sheng, save Chao Gai on the horse, kill out of the village.
After that, Chao Gai died, and the boss of Liangshan died in this way.
Just as Sun Jian's death led to Sun Ce and Sun Quan's prosperity in Eastern Wu, Chao Gai's death was equivalent to clearing the obstacle for Song Jiang to take charge of Liangshan... This is an afterthought, and it will not be elaborated upon.
Looking at the novel's description of the death of Sun Jian and Chao Gai, from a large point of view, the two are both rash, do not listen to others, and take risks with their bodies; from a small point of view, the wind breaks the flag, the ambush in the body, and the death of random arrows are also the same plot.
Chinese classical novels, often have such similarities in content, personally believe that this may have something to do with the convergence of many stories circulating in the folk first, and the public's pursuit of the wonderful points of the story.
