The elderly Han Songdong of Fushun, Liaoning Province, often tells the children the story of Lei Feng and the story of Lei Feng that he personally experienced.
When Han Songdong was a child, her counselor Lei Feng once gave her a copy of "Serving the People", which accompanied her through the long years. Now, she also gives books to children every year, in the same way, what Lei Feng taught her, from generation to generation.
Many people who have been in contact with Lei Feng like Han Songdong have quietly changed the trajectory of their lives. In fact, their contact with Lei Feng was only two or three years, but it was only a few years that became the most difficult part of their lives.
Think of yourself as a servant of the people
On December 17, 2020, the day before the 80th anniversary of Lei Feng's birth, on the second floor of Lei Feng Primary School, Zhan Shirong, who is over 70 years old, and primary school classmates Li Changning, Zhang Yaqin and Han Songdong gathered together to remember lei Feng, a former counselor. 60 years ago, the name of Lei Feng Primary School was Wanghua District Jianshe Street Primary School, and Lei Feng's short life has engraved a deep mark on this primary school.
On October 10, 1960, 16 PLA soldiers were assigned to various classes of the school as off-campus counselors. The children were very excited when they knew, waving the team flag and beating the team drum to welcome. Lei Feng is also among them, he is the squadron counselor of the fourth class of the fifth grade, and he is also the counselor of the off-campus brigade.
That year, Zhan Shirong was 14 years old, studying in the second class of the fifth grade, and was a member of the brigade's literary and artistic committee. Her contact with Lei Feng stemmed from a collectively organized film. Zhan Shirong was responsible for collecting movie tickets, and after collecting the money, he counted it over and over again, but it was not right, and there was less triangular money. In the era when 40 yuan could feed six people, 3 dimes was a person's living expenses for a day, and she was about to cry. It just so happened that Lei Feng pushed the door into the classroom, saw that her state was not right, and asked: "Zhan Shirong, what's wrong?" Zhan Shirong complained that he had lost money: "It's really unlucky! I have to take my own money to run errands for my classmates, and I won't do it later. After hearing this, Lei Feng said, "You can't think like this, you are a brigade cadre, it is the teachers and classmates who trust you, and it is also appropriate to serve your classmates, but you must not be careless, and you must develop a good habit of serious work from an early age." Saying, Lei Feng took out 3 dimes from his pocket and gave it to Zhan Shirong. Uncle Lei Feng helped solve the problems encountered by Zhan Shirong, and also made her understand a truth, serving everyone is a good thing, and we must do a good job carefully and carefully.
In the winter of minus 30 degrees Celsius, after snow, the road surface is very slippery. On the way home from school, Zhan Shirong happened to meet Lei Feng, who was going back to the barracks. Lei Feng asked Zhan Shirong about his study, and as he was talking, he found that there was an old man across the road who was pushing a trolley with difficulty. Lei Feng immediately ran over, and Zhan Shirong also learned from Lei Feng, and together they helped the old man push the car far away. Lei Feng asked her: "Classmate Zhan Shirong, are you tired?" She said: "To be able to do something good for the people, no matter how bitter and tired the heart is, it is also sweet." For decades, Zhan Shirong has always remembered her answer to Lei Feng's words, no matter what work she does, she regards herself as a servant of the people, works hard herself, and does more good things for others.

December 18, 2020, is the 80th anniversary of Lei Feng's birth. At the commemorative activities held by the Lei Feng Brigade, Chen Yajuan stepped onto the stage, and before she could say a few words, she could not cry.
On the front page of the "People's Liberation Army Daily" on May 30, 1962, a photo was published: Lei Feng and a primary school student reading a pictorial newspaper together. The elementary school student was Chen Yajuan, wearing a sweater with red stripes on a green background, a white-collar dress inside, and two large eyes watery. Suddenly, this elementary school student was more than seventy years old, and the years had added a few wrinkles to her face, but she could still see Chen Yajuan's beautiful appearance when she was young.

The photo with Lei Feng is Chen Yajuan's proudest baby. In April 1962, Zhang Jun, a former photojournalist from the Shenyang Military Region, went to Benxi Road Primary School to interview primary school students, and after the interview, asked the primary school students: "Tomorrow, I will take pictures of you and Uncle Lei Feng, is it okay?" The children were surprised and delighted, and said in unison: "Good! Zhang Jun told the students to put on their most beautiful clothes. Chen Yajuan has a green sweater with red bars, which her mother bought to reward her when she was elected as a member of the brigade's literary and art committee in the second grade of primary school. She didn't think it looked good to wear only a sweater, and then she turned over the white collar dress that her cousin wore and put it in the sweater. She wears 3 pink head flowers that she is willing to tie every New Year's Festival. The next day, Chen Yajuan, who was dressed up beautifully, got her wish and read the "People's Liberation Army Pictorial" with Lei Feng, and zhang Jun froze with his camera.
Liu Jing is a classmate of Chen Yajuan's next class, and Zhang Jun also took a group photo of her and Lei Feng. Lei Feng smiled and leaned down, waiting for Liu Jing to tie a red scarf for him. In order to meet the requirements of the shooting angle and position, Zhang Jun also asked Liu Jing to change the Young Pioneers " two bars" that should be worn on the left sleeve to the right.
But because the sunlight was too strong, Liu Jing's face was overexposed, and the photo of wearing a red scarf chose a group photo of other students and Lei Feng. This became Liu Jing's lingering regret, and the photo that was not selected was hung by Liu Jing on the wall of the living room at home. When I saw the photo, I remembered the days with Lei Feng's counselor.

Liu Jing loved to draw when she was a child and was a member of the literary and art committee in her class. In art class, she drew a portrait of a teacher with a pencil, and as soon as the bell rang at the end of class, a mischievous boy snatched the painting and pasted it on the blackboard with saliva, and the classmates all gathered around and fiercely discussed whether Liu Jing was like a painting. Lei Feng happened to walk into the classroom at this time and took off the painting and returned it to Liu Jing, just like this, Lei Feng knew that Liu Jing liked to draw. One day, Liu Jing and her classmates went to Lei Feng's barracks, Lei Feng took the satchel off the wall, there was a diary in it, sandwiched a few pictures, Lei Feng wrote on the back of the picture "To Liu Jing's children, your eldest friend Lei Feng", to Liu Jing, who loves to paint.
The paintings sent by Lei Feng are not expensive, but they greatly encourage Liu Jing to continue on the road of painting. In the 1970s, Liu Jing took the Liaoning Provincial College Entrance Examination, was admitted to the Fushun Education College, and studied in the art department for three years, consolidating her painting skills. Later joined the work, because of the busy, there is no large chunk of time to spend painting. In 2012, after Liu Jing retired, she devoted all her energy to drawing Lei Feng. Every two hours of rest, a portrait of Lei Feng doing good deeds was drawn in about ten days, and compared with the photo, it was almost the same. Many units, relatives and friends asked Liu Jing to draw the story of Lei Feng, frame it, and motivate herself to learn from Lei Feng.
