At the turn of the Ming and Qing dynasties, the war-torn people, the fallen magnates, the remnants of the Ming army, and the remnants of the Ming and dynasties who were unwilling to serve the Qing dynasty all moved to Nanyang, that is, Southeast Asia. In order to seek livelihood and avoid war, driven by the climax of "Lower Nanyang", groups and groups of people migrated to Nanyang again and again, and more than 7 million people went before and after.

The first republic established in Asia

In 1772, Luo Fangboxiang, a Hakka family in Meizhou, Guangdong, failed to try, and also crossed the sea with the sea and embarked on the road of "going down to the South Sea". After several months of wandering, he arrived in "Borneo" (now Kalimantan). Luo Fangbo has been practicing martial arts since he was a child, and when he first arrived in Kalimantan, he made a living teaching and got along with the local people very well.

Borneo has fertile land, arable and pastoral, mountains and forests, gold mines, rich resources, and constant struggles between large and small mining companies on the island, and armed invasion by the Dutch East India Company outside. On one occasion, Luo Fangbo and his partners assisted the local Sudanese leader in resolving the indigenous rebellion, and the Sudanese leader, in gratitude, placed East Wanlu under the jurisdiction of Luo Fangbo, a land of more than 100,000 people and a gold-producing area of tens of kilometers north and south. With the joint efforts of Luo Fangbo and Chen Lanbo, Lanfang Company was established.

In 1776, Luo Fangbo changed the company to the Lanfang Republic, and the first honorary head of state was Chen Lanbo, from which Lanfang's name was derived. Luo Fangbo followed the example of the West to set up a complete set of executive, legislative and judicial institutions, with a Ministry of Defense, but no standing army, the whole people are soldiers, peacetime production, wartime soldiers.

As soon as the state was founded, Luo Fangbo sent people back to China to meet the Qianlong Emperor and put forward a request, hoping to incorporate the land of Borneo into the territory of the Qing Dynasty, or a vassal state. Emperor Qianlong scoffed and ignored it. Luo Fangbo also explained to his death that his heart of returning to the Great Qing could not be changed, but it was a pity that his heart was naked.

At first, the Dutch did not dare to touch the Lanfang Republic, thinking that the Lanfang Republic was blessed by the Qing Dynasty. The Dutch were beaten by the Ming army that year, and there are still shadows in their hearts. In this way, the Republic of Lanfang has a good period of development. At its peak, the country's land area reached 140,000 square kilometers, roughly the same as Anhui.

In the Republic of Lanfang, seven chiefs were elected by popular election after Luo Fangbo. Existed for 110 years. The Qing dynasty weakened and was destroyed by the Dutch in 1886.

The Lanfang region, home to the Chinese population, is now one of Indonesia's most economically developed regions.
