The 2016 National Softball Summer Camp opened in Changchun

The 2016 National Soft baseball and softball summer camp and the national softball and softball championship opened on August 2 at Changchun Experimental Middle School, with 2,831 athletes from 126 primary and secondary schools in 19 provinces and cities across the country, with a total of 156 participating teams. The event also attracted more than 400 people from domestic and foreign education units and sports units, special education school representative teams and parent representative teams in Changchun City, with a total number of nearly 5,000 participants, which was the largest number of participants and the largest scale.

This activity aims to further demonstrate the charm of baseball and softball, so that more teenagers can enjoy the joy of sports and benefit for a lifetime. The event will run from August 1 to August 8 and last for 8 days. The content covers 8 major sections, namely soft baseball softball coach and referee training class, soft baseball softball championship, soft baseball softball parent-child game and fun games, student program performance, soft baseball softball seminar, soft baseball softball teaching case (thesis) selection, national soft baseball softball award case (thesis) and student excellent works display. It is worth mentioning that whether it is joining the special education school student representative team or setting up a parent-child fun competition, it is the first time in the activity.

It is understood that the National Soft Baseball Summer Camp and Championship has been successfully held for 7 sessions since it was held in 2009. As one of the organizers, Liu Yichun, president of Northeast Normal University, said: "The National Soft Baseball Summer Camp and Championship is an important activity carried out by the State General Administration of Sport and the Ministry of Education to benefit future generations and revitalize Chinese baseball and softball. Through campus promotion, popularize the knowledge and skills of baseball and softball among young students, and form a campus baseball and softball culture, so as to cultivate all-round development and outstanding talents of young baseball and softball reserve talents. ”

Soft softball was originally designed to promote baseball and softball, the rules of the game are simplified, the field conditions are low, the number of participants is large, and the ball and bat are soft, with safety, is in line with the characteristics of adolescent physical and mental development and campus safety requirements of youth baseball, suitable for campus development. At present, there are more than 2,000 schools in China that carry out soft baseball and softball, covering 31 provinces, municipalities and autonomous regions in China.

The event was hosted by the Handball and Softball Management Center of the General Administration of Sport of the People's Republic of China, the China Softball Association, the Sports and Health Branch of the China Education Association, the Changchun Municipal People's Government, and the Changchun Municipal Sports Bureau, the Changchun Municipal Education Bureau, and the Northeast Normal University (China Soft Baseball and Softball Training Center).
