The remnants of Angkor Wat

In 2012, because of the good work, I was fortunate to be recommended by the company to travel to Cambodia, a Southeast Asian country, a five-day itinerary, the main destinations are Angkor Wat and Mekong River in Cambodia.

To be honest, I didn't want to go at that time, because I just got married and bought a house, I owed a debt to the ass, basically there was no money, the whole family only had less than 3,000 yuan, and then because I had already signed up and the visa was also processed, I remember that I exchanged 200 US dollars at that time, and I went abroad with a tour group with 300 yuan.

That time I went out around May Day, the weather was better, but Cambodia was still relatively hot, basically all the way to short-sleeved shirts, shorts and sandals. When I came to Cambodia, the tour guide began to sell phone cards, 5 US dollars to get one, the phone can be called back to China, it is not expensive, call every day, and there is no downtime when leaving Cambodia.

Along the way, get on the bus to sleep, get off the car to pee, follow the tour guide, walk around and watch the flowers, each attraction basically has no time to look seriously. In general, the size of Angkor Wat is more felt, some places are tall and densely forested, plus green bricks and stones, it looks a little eerie, it is said that the filming part of "Tomb Raider" is here. The Khmer smile looks pretty mad, spinning around with a group of stone statues smiling at you, and I don't really like this style.

Another attraction is the Mekong River, everyone's sightseeing boat seems to be called a trampoline, anyway, the speed of sitting on it is not too fast, the sound is similar to the tractor, mainly to see the crocodiles raised in captivity, and there are children playing snakes everywhere, give 500 yuan to put the snake on your neck, I really thank you, I gave them 500 per person, let them stay away from me, I didn't expect to surround more than 10 immediately, and sent more than 10 snakes with thick arms, almost fainted me, fortunately the tour guide came to solve the siege, I saw that the tour guide gave the toothbrush and toothpaste we could bring out in the hotel to this group of children, so I asked the reason, the tour guide said that most of the tourists gave them candy to eat, and the teeth were broken, so I gave them toothpaste and toothbrush, I think this tour guide is really good.

It may be that I am too poor, I think the price in Cambodia is actually similar to our Yunnan, buy a pair of shorts for 5 US dollars, equivalent to more than 30 yuan, at that time some stores can also use RMB, but most of them still only accept US dollars and Cambodian dollars, Cambodia exchange RMB I remember about 100 yuan for more than 40,000, I remember the smallest face value of Cambodian currency is 500 yuan, basically about 1 yuan, the tour guide said that Cambodia generally has to tip the waiter, I remember that every day I put 4,000 Cambodian dollars in the hotel room to the cleaning attendant, because the tour guide said, generally put about 2,000, I think it's hard to go abroad, but can't let people say Chinese stingy.

What impressed me the most was the half day of free time before leaving Cambodia, I and a colleague, in broken English, found a tricycle, let the driver take us around, and met a local wedding in Cambodia, the couple and their friends were taking pictures, whether from the costume or appearance, I felt very local, but unfortunately the camera ran out of battery at that time, and then we went to eat a local specialty, most of them can't remember, I only remember that one dish was made eggs, Inside the egg was a chicken that was about to grow hair, and after holding my breath and eating a bite, I could only say that I couldn't accept it.

This is my trip abroad, where I think of writing, there seem to be a lot of negative things about Southeast Asian countries in the media in the past two years, but as far as I feel, most people in this country are still quite simple, and it should not be a big problem to travel.
