"Based on industry-leading natural language processing, knowledge graph, semantic matching, intelligent writing and other technologies, Yunfu has built YFINT, an open source intelligence system, and combined with the results of ChatGPT models, launched the OpenAI research report."

Introduction to ChatGPT

On November 30, 2022, San Francisco-based OpenAI launched its latest title: the ChatGPT chatbot. Just two months after its launch, ChatGPT has an estimated 100 million monthly active users, making it the fastest-growing consumer app in history.

At present, ChatGPT still generates a lot of factual errors during the interaction, cannot update the knowledge base in real time online, and does not indicate the source of its own answers. Yunfu Technology combines search and knowledge graph technology to increase knowledge sources, and prompt and verify the results of large language models, effectively alleviating the above problems.

ChatGPT's writing ability is very prominent, strong comprehension ability, coherent writing, can improve efficiency in all aspects, and make the whole process of generating reports more automated.

OpenAI Panorama Report

It includes OpenAI development history, investment and financing introduction, main products, core figures, competitive product analysis, etc. The following is an excerpt from the report:

OpenAI is an American artificial intelligence research laboratory formed by the for-profit organization OpenAI LP and the parent company non-profit organization OpenAI Inc. to promote and develop friendly artificial intelligence for the benefit of humanity as a whole. Founded in late 2015 and headquartered in San Francisco, California, OpenAI aims to open patents and research results to the public through "free collaboration" with other institutions and researchers. Founders Elon Musk and Sam Keman were motivated by concerns about the potential risks of strong artificial intelligence. As of 2018, OpenAI's headquarters were located in San Francisco's Mission district, in the same office building as Elon Musk's other company, Neuralink.

1 Development history

OpenAI is an American artificial intelligence research lab founded in 2015 by a group of tech leaders, consisting of for-profit OpenAI LP and nonprofit OpenAI Inc, to promote friendly artificial intelligence that benefits humanity as a whole. OpenAI, whose core tenet is to enable safe general artificial intelligence, is headquartered in San Francisco, California, in the same office building as Elon Musk's other company, Neuralink. Concerned about the potential risks of strong AI, OpenAI's founders, Elon Musk and Sam Koeman, took a "freely collaborative" approach and opened patents and research results to the public.

1.1 Founding

Founded on December 11, 2015 and headquartered in San Francisco, California, OpenAI aims to open patents and research results to the public through "free collaboration" with other institutions and researchers, aiming to advance digital intelligence in a way that is most likely to benefit all of humanity, unconstrained by the need to generate financial returns.

1.2 Development

On March 1, 2019, the OpenAI LP subsidiary was established for the purpose of making a profit. OpenAI LP is a "capped" for-profit company that provides investors and employees with a cap on returns, beyond which are owned by the parent nonprofit entity. OpenAI LP employs most of OpenAI's staff, with former co-chairman Sam Altman becoming CEO. In March 2017, OpenAI began drafting a document to chart a path to AGI, realizing that continuing as a nonprofit was economically untenable. In April 2018, the OpenAI charter was released, restating OpenAI's core values and planning to transition to a for-profit company.

2 Artificial intelligence system

2.1 Gym

  • In 2016

OpenAI released Gym, a public platform for developing and comparing reinforcement learning algorithms, in April 2016, and Universe, a software platform for measuring and training the universal intelligence that AI delivers globally across games, websites, and other applications.

  • In 2019

In 2019, OpenAI released Roboschool, an open-source software for robot simulation based on the Bullet physics engine and has achieved integration with OpenAI's previous release of Gym.

2.6 Model

2.6.1 GPT-1

OpenAI proposed GPT-1 in 2018, a large language model based on Transformer with 110 million parameters, using a large number of unlabeled corpus for unsupervised pre-training, and then fine-tuning on various supervised NLP tasks with good results. The innovation of GPT-1 is that it uses Transformer's decoder as a language model, using autoregressive methods to generate text, that is, predicting the next word based on the previous word.

2.6.1 GPT-2

OpenAI came up with GPT-2 in 2019, an upgraded version of GPT-1 with 1.5 billion parameters, pre-trained with a larger corpus, including an 8-billion-word WebText dataset, a text dataset crawled from the internet that contains news, blogs, Wikipedia, and more. The improvement point of GPT-2 is the use of larger models and more data, which improves the generalization ability of the language model, so that it can achieve good results on a variety of NLP tasks, and even does not need to be fine-tuned, only needs to adjust the input according to the input format of the task.

2.6.1 GPT-3

OpenAI proposed GPT-3 in 2020, a further extension of GPT-2 with 175 billion parameters, pre-trained with a much larger corpus, including 45TB of text data, a high-quality text dataset sifted from the Common Crawl dataset containing trillions of words. The breakthrough point of GPT-3 is the use of larger models and richer data, which improves the expression ability of language models, enabling them to achieve amazing results on a variety of NLP tasks, and even only need to give a small number of examples to achieve rapid adaptation of tasks, which is called Few-Shot Learning.

2.6.2 ChatGPT

OpenAI proposed ChatGPT in 2022, a conversational bot based on GPT-3.5, the latest version of GPT-3 with 175 billion parameters, pre-trained with a more updated corpus, including text data from 2021. ChatGPT features a fine-tuned dialogue task based on GPT-3.5, enabling it to generate smooth, interesting and logical responses based on user input, and can interact according to the context of the chat, truly chatting like a human. ChatGPT is not only a chatbot, but also can write emails, video scripts, copywriting, translation, code, and more. Within a week of ChatGPT's launch, more than a million users tried the online tool.

In January 2023, just two months after ChatGPT launched, its monthly active users were estimated to reach 100 million, making it the fastest-growing consumer app in history. By comparison, it took Facebook 2.5 years to reach 100 million users, Instagram for almost 2 years, and ChatGPT for just two months.

According to Similarweb data, during January 2023, ChatGPT averaged about 13 million unique visitors per day, which is more than double the number in December 2022.

On February 1, 2023, OpenAI released the ChatGPT Plus subscription plan, which costs $20 per month, and subscribers can (1) use it during peak hours; (2) faster service response; (3) Priority access to new features and improvements. This version is currently only available to users in the United States, and it is expected to be available in more countries in the future.

Arvid Lunnemark: Graduated from MIT in Mathematics and Computer Science in 2022; Sualeh Asif graduated from MIT in 2022 with a degree in Mathematics and Computer Science. Anysphere closed a $200,000 seed round in 2022 from Alameda Research.

3.2.5 Atomic Semi

Founded in Dover in 2023 to manufacture advanced and simplistic semiconductor silicon chips using 3D projection printing technology, Atomic Semi focuses on manufacturing chips in a matter of hours, rather than months that typically requires, by using radically simplified and scaled-down semiconductor fabs and prototype integrated circuits to provide users with simple and miniaturized chips.
