On the morning of May 7, the Information Office of the Municipal Government held a press conference on "Promoting the Coordinated Development of Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei - Integrated Construction of Transportation Infrastructure". Wang Zhinan, director of the Municipal Transportation Commission, said that Tianjin will consolidate and improve the construction effectiveness of "Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei on the track", accelerate the construction of the Tianjin-Weihai high-speed railway and the southern section of the Beijing-Tianjin intercity, and inject new momentum into the coordinated development of Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei and the development of Beijing-Tianjin city.

The Tianjin-Weihai high-speed railway and the Beijing-Tianjin intercity railway are part of the second channel of the Beijing-Shanghai corridor in the national "eight vertical and eight horizontal" high-speed rail network framework, and are national key projects.

It is understood that the Keihin Intercity starts from Beijing City Sub-Center Station, passes through Langfang, Hebei and Tianjin Baodi, Beichen and Dongli, to Binhai West Station in Binhai New Area, with a line length of about 98 kilometers, and the northern section of the project (Baodi to Beichen) has been put into operation in 2022, and the construction of the southern section of the project (Beichen to Binhai New Area) is currently being accelerated. The Tianjin-Weihai high-speed railway starts from Binhai Station in Binhai New Area, passes through Binhai New Area, Cangzhou in Hebei, Weifang in Shandong and other cities to Weifang North Station, with a line length of about 350 kilometers.
Since the start of the two projects for more than a year, it has completed large-scale temporary facilities, Tianjin Airport No. 1, No. 2, Binhai New Area Haihe Tunnel shield and other major control node projects, in the first half of this year, the two high-speed rail tunnel shield projects will all be completed to start the operation, and at the end of this year, the Jingbin Intercity (Huaming Town to the Airport Section) will complete the shield construction. The two high-speed railways are scheduled to open simultaneously in 2027.
