"Xi Shi Eye" is the first film literary script created by Local Writer Zhou Guangrong in Zhuji after TV series such as "The Story of Fengqiao", depicting the real state and living environment of the people in Xi Shi's hometown.
By telling the different life stories of three women, 16-year-old flower seller Ah Xi, 26-year-old middle school teacher Shi Yu and 36-year-old Yue opera actor Lian Wen, the film reflects the pain and happiness experienced by people in Jiangnan Town in their life experience of chasing their dreams.

"Xi Shi Eye" is another collaboration between Guan Hu and Chen Daoming after "Black Hole", and the "sixth generation director" Guan Hu continues to serve as a director in the film, with Chen Daoming as a consultant.
Regarding the title of "Xi Shi Eye", Guan Hu said that "Xi Shi Eye" originally came from the legend of Zhuji's specialty xiang yu, when the Yue King used how to open the incense shell Kao Xi Shi and Zheng Dan, and finally Xi Shi pressed the two protruding dots on the shell of the incense stick with his hand, and with a gentle press of his hand, the shell opened.
Perhaps, this is also a trick to life. The eyes are the windows that look out of the outside, and the mountains, waters, grasses, and trees in Xi Shi's eyes.

In 2002, "Xi Shi Eye" was one of the five candidate films nominated for the Best Film Award at the Hawaii International Film Festival, and won the Asian Film Jury Award (NETPAC Award), becoming the only Chinese film to win at this year's Hawaii Film Festival; in 2003, "Xi Shi Eye" won the Most Popular Film Award at the 10th Beijing University Student Film Festival.
