About learning
In fact, when he was an undergraduate at Nanjing University of Finance and Economics, Zhu Yantong did not study animation, but advertising. However, under the influence of her father's subtle influence and her interest in painting, she resolutely chose to change her animation major during her graduate school years. You know, the Animation Institute of Tokyo University of the Arts has only enrolled two Chinese students so far, and Zhu Yantong is one of them.
During his studies at Toei, Zhu Yantong studied under Japanese animation master Koji Yamamura. She told us that it was because she saw Koji Yamamura's work "Touyama" that she decided to study at Dongyi! I hope that one day I can make animations that are as good as my teachers. About authoring
The animation "The Calf in the Cup" is actually the graduation work of Zhu Yantong's graduate school. For this animation, she delayed graduation by a year, and was ready to give up halfway through, but eventually insisted on creating it. Looking back on the days of hard painting in Tokyo, Zhu Yantong sighed and said that he still missed the atmosphere of undistracted creation!
The animation "Maverick" tells the story of the protagonist because the protagonist does not like to drink milk, and her father has been tricking her into hiding a calf in the cup. Through the perspective of Yuanyuan, the work shows the audience the father and the world in the eyes of a child, and many people who have seen it say that they are moved by the warm feelings of the father and daughter in the film.
The intention of this animation is that all the pictures are drawn by Zhu Yantong frame by frame. Although it's only 11 minutes long, her manuscripts are stacked in two large boxes.
