CHANEL and Valentino have successively released the 2023 spring/summer haute couture collection, together from the inspiration collision of this season, to perceive the refinement and charm of craftsmanship.

CHANEL's Spring/Summer 2023 haute couture collection begins with Gabrielle Chanel's private residence at 31 rue Cambon.
Virginie Viya and Xavier Veilhan met here at the beginning of their collaboration, and various animal ornaments, sculptures and paintings such as lions, deer, stag, birds and camels are displayed here. "This is my third collaboration with Xavier Veilhan, and I asked him to reinterpret the animal fables in the apartment and incorporate his own preferences," she says. "All the embroidery in the series comes from the animal world."
The cropped tweed suit and coat dress feature embroidered motifs of kittens, corgis, rabbits and swallows, as well as the brand's signature stag, stag and camellia.
The launch site resembles a village square, and a festive parade is ready to take place. Models hidden in Xavier Veilhan's 11 sculptures of giant animals made of wood, cardboard and paper suddenly appeared. "I love the idea of interrupting the process with an unexpected surprise," she continues.
The Chanel suit draws inspiration from the women's uniforms of festive parades and carnival shows. Top hats, bow ties, white gloves, lace-up boots, satin capes, ruffle skirts, double-breasted or tuxedo coats, dress shirts, sequin embroidery, ultra shorts, petticoats: the collection conceived by Virginie Via is full of poetic elements of the female conductor of the marching band.
Lightweight and sophisticated, dresses and jumpsuits are designed with layering, sheerness, trims, pleats, thin straps and recoloured lace in silky beaded yarn, taffeta, ugan yarn, georgette crepe and chantilly lace.
