In the praise and disapproval, I found an interesting phenomenon: most of the applauded are senior fans, and most of the dissatisfied have not read the novel before.
What does this mean?
As a winning work of the Hugo Award, the highest honor in the international science fiction industry, "The Three-Body Problem" comes with traffic, and for senior fans, high score = acting online + book-picking restoration.
In both cases, the drama version has done both.
But it is also undeniable that as a hardcore science fiction, "The Three-Body Problem" has a threshold, has a strong jump, and needs to be watched several times.
This is not a problem with the drama version, the original book itself has two lines.
One line is Ye Wenjie's story, which takes place in 1967.
The other line is the global physicist suicide, which occurred in 2007.
The intersection of the two events is the invasion of the earth by the three-body civilization, and the focus figure is Ye Wenjie.
So, isn't it more clear?
As the soul of "Three-Body 1", Ye Wenjie's personality is extremely complex.
She is a knowledgeable retired professor, a gentle and kind old man, and her family has been physicists for 4 generations.
She is a wife and mother with weak feelings, a silent and low-key murderer, and a sad heart that sees through human nature.
She fired Earth coordinates at the Trisolaran civilization, and she is the supreme leader of the ETO (Earth Trisolaran Organization), where she led the Trisolarans to take over the Earth civilization.
Ye Wenjie is a victim and a villain; But even as a villain, she did not lose her conscience.
Chen Jin's acting skills are quite good, with a kind of calm and decisiveness of "seeing all the vicissitudes, I don't move", making people think that she is Ye Wenjie's original figure.
In the original work, Ye Wenjie's light is too dazzling, so that the other characters are eclipsed.
But the drama version is not exactly like this, at least two people are very eye-catching: Wang Miao, played by Ding Luyi, and Shi Qiang, played by Yu Hewei.

Wang Miao: The whole universe flickers for you
Wang Miao is the male protagonist of "Three-Body 1", born in 1970, academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, nanoscientist.
The novel's portrayal of Wang Miao is relatively bland, without the heroic aura of Luo Ji in Part 2, nor is it as good as Yun Tianming's worldly wisdom in Part 3.

But throughout the first part, Wang Miao's role is very important, and the whole story unfolds from his perspective.
According to some statistics, the name "Wang Miao" appears more than 600 times in the book, while "Ye Wenjie" only more than 400 times.
The drama version also gave Wang Miao a male protagonist role, and Zhang Lu contributed a lot to this.
As an intellectual with an artistic temperament, Wang Miao is talented and gentle.
He had a perfect life, a successful career, a happy family, and a great hobby: enthusiast photographer.
Zhang Luyi fits well with Wang Miao's image.
A tall man with a thin and tall body, but not weak, wearing a plaid shirt and brand-name casual jeans, there is a kind of intellectual Xiaoqinggao.
People who have watched "The Three-Body Problem" will know that most of the key characters written by Liu Cixin have "reversals", such as Ye Wenjie, Shi Qiang, Luo Ji, Cheng Xin, Vader, Zhang Beihai...
He tells us from a unique perspective: what you think is good may not be really good, and what you think is bad may not be really bad.
Only Wang Miao, the novel does not portray his heart much, but Zhang Lu played the role alive.
1st reversal: Ghost countdown, cosmic flickering.
Without the response of Trisolarans and Ye Wenjie, Wang Miao, like many predecessors of scholars, would have done scientific research, produced results, taught and educated people, and benefited mankind.
The ghost counts down and makes his life stuck.
A scholar suddenly became the center of the universe, and the entire universe flickered only for you alone, and the shock was beyond words.
This is Wang Miao's first psychological defense: your every move is monitored by others, and you don't know who the other party is.
From doubt, to fear, to despair, to emotional loss of control, to apocalyptic panic, Zhang Luyi's performance is remarkable.
The second reversal: Operation Guzheng, become a hero.
Operation Guzheng is the idea of Dashi, but Wang Miao is the absolute main force.

Shi Qiang is not good at acting, he is also good and evil, rude on the surface, but in fact he is thoughtful.
At first, I thought that Yu Hewei's image was really not in line with Shi Qiang, and Jiang Wen and Jiang Wu would be more suitable.
But after a few episodes, I found that Yu Hewei acted really well, although the shape is not similar, but the god is very similar.
Bai Yiqing, the chief producer of "The Three-Body Problem", said that at first he also thought that Yu Hewei was "not ruffian enough", but "he has the best acting skills and expressiveness".
It turns out that the director was chosen correctly.
Although Shi Qiang is a supporting role, he is a key figure spanning the two films 1-2; If anyone in "The Three-Body Problem" represents hope when he appears, it is Shi Qiang.
In the first part, he protects Wang Miao, who destroys the core of the ETO organization;
In the second part, he protects Luo Ji, who has protected the earth with a sword for 62 years;
It can be said that Shi Qiang is the protector of the two saviors, and with Yu Hewei's level, he can definitely withstand two dramas.
Shi Qiang is the most down-to-earth character in "The Three-Body Problem", and he speaks in the vernacular.
But even in front of a group of Kochi scientists and the world's supreme commander, this illiterate person is the most sober.

His mind is not "high" at all, but he can see the essence of life through the fog.

It's like when you wake up and find that your life, not necessarily the combination of sperm and egg, how did it come about, there is no law to follow, will you go crazy directly?

Otherwise, why don't people fly into the sky? Why don't apple trees bear pears? When should we rest and work? Why go to school? How can I have children?
In a sense, law = faith = meaning of life, and destroying the law is equivalent to destroying life.
Except for people like Shi Qiang, his belief is to live, and the present is life.
