Canada's McNeill, who competed with Zhang Yufei, and Hesk of the United States, reached the finish line in 24.64 seconds to share the gold medal.

Zhang Yufei told reporters after the race that although she achieved the two small goals of improving her personal performance and equaling the Asian record, a mistake on the side when she reached the finish line made her miss out on first place. "Because the distance of 50 meters is very short, the requirements for the butterfly to the edge are very high, and you can't miss half a move, but I made such a mistake." Zhang Yufei said that he participated in the short pool competition less, and this competition can help him find his shortcomings and learn from them.
