From the Silom-Narathiwat intersection to Chamchuri Squar Square, participants in bright costumes showcased their diversity, and the festival also attracted many Bangkoks, foreigners, political party representatives and gender diversity activists.
The parade ends in Chamchuri Square, where a bazaar featuring art and cultural exhibitions, entertainment, merchandise, performances and discussions is organized.
Chanan Yodhong, who oversees the opposition Pheu Thai party's gender diversity policy, said the labour market and manufacturing needed to be adjusted to provide equal opportunities for people of all genders.
"The Pheu Thai Party is pushing two issues to uphold equality: amendments to the law and expanding the universal health care program," he said.
In Asia, the experience of LGBTQI people varies widely.
In Thailand and a few other countries, they are already pursuing marriage legalization and equal rights, and nonprofit organizations are fighting to gain more say in the government. But in other countries, from the dissolution of relevant public welfare institutions and university organizations, to the complete ban of film and television dramas and entertainment industries, the living space of LGBTQI people has suddenly been squeezed, like the situation decades ago, almost turned underground, which is embarrassing.
