Uganda is one of the few polygamous countries in the world where laws allow a man to have multiple wives at the same time. This treatment is available to both Ugandan natives and settlers.
When it comes to Africa, many people's first impression is that it has been dry for years and severe water shortage, although Uganda is located in Africa, the real situation is just the opposite, the country has fertile land, abundant rainfall, known as the "East African plateau water town".
Due to work, I have worked in Uganda for half a year, and I have my own unique understanding of what kind of country Uganda is, so please follow my text and get to know Uganda together.
First arrived in Uganda.
I went to Uganda in 2017 with three other colleagues besides me. When we were first notified that the company was sending us to Uganda, we were all strongly opposed to it, after all, African countries are considered dirty and bad in the minds of most Chinese.
The company's leaders also saw our reluctance, but due to the emergency, we needed to send someone to deal with it in time, and then they promised us to double our wages and reimburse all living expenses.
A few of us saw that the leader was so resolute, so we did not dare to raise any objections, called our families that day, and left for Uganda the next day.
At that time, there was no direct plane from our country to Uganda, and we needed to transfer from other countries on the way, and the transfer route was generally Doha Airport, Dubai Airport or Addis Ababa Airport, the capital of Qatar.
It is still relatively far from our country to Uganda, it takes more than ten hours by plane, and after arriving at Kampala Airport, the capital of Uganda, I learned that the same capital airport, Beijing's capital airport is not known how many times more prosperous than Uganda's capital airport.
Kampala's capital airport is not so much an airport, I feel more like a bus station in our country's second- and third-tier cities, whether it is airport buildings or hardware facilities, there is no luxury that belongs to the airport, it is said that the airport is the face of a country, from here you can see how backward Uganda's economic strength is.
After leaving Kampala Airport, there are old colleagues here to pick us up, riding the streets of Kampala, all dilapidated, without the slightest prosperity, you know this is the capital of Uganda.
When I saw such a scene, I joked with my colleagues that I would bring those keyboard warriors who only type on the keyboard on the Internet and criticize their country as bad, and bring them here to see what qualifications they have to say that the country they live in is not good.
Colleagues also jokingly responded that if they brought those keyboard warriors here, they would definitely cry and praise the motherland one by one, begging to return to China.
After a little more than an hour of driving, we arrived at our place of work, and my old colleague prepared a simple reception banquet for us, which began my work trip to Uganda.
What a country Uganda is.
01. Uganda is a polygamous country.
Uganda values the inferiority of men to women, and the status of women in this country is very low. Men may have three wives and four concubines, while women must be faithful to their husbands. In Uganda, more than half of male partners have two or more partners.
For Ugandan women, their road to growth can be described as full of ups and downs, and from the beginning of the wow landing, it will cause unhappiness among parents and family elders, because the patriarchal mentality has been ingrained in their minds.
In the growth of childhood, not only can not enjoy the preference of parents for older brothers and brothers, but also endure the bullying of older brothers and brothers. More ruthless parents will ignore their daughters and let them grow up naturally.
Most Ugandan girls are married off early by their parents when they reach their teenage age. For Ugandan girls, they do not have the right to choose a partner, everything is subject to the arrangement of their parents, whether the other party is middle-aged or the same age, has several wives or is unmarried, girls have to marry and have to marry.
For Ugandan women, marriage is like opening a blind box, marrying a kind husband, and life will be a little better in the future. Marrying a husband with a bad temper can be said to be very unfortunate in life.
When Ugandan women get married, they not only have to obey their husbands and take the initiative to take care of all household chores, work outside the home or work in agriculture. It is also necessary to endure the husband's three wives and four concubines, and everything must be centered on the husband, and the husband cannot refute when he says that one is one and two is two.
Women in Uganda are able to hold up half the sky, and men here are lazy, and most of the money to support the family or take care of children is done by women. If they were not dragged down by patriarchal thinking, I believe they could live their glorious lives.
02. Life is difficult for Ugandans.
The gap between the rich and the poor in Uganda is also quite large, a very small number of rich people drive luxury cars, live in luxury villas, and hire multiple servants to serve, but most Ugandans are still worried about food and clothing.
In Uganda Chinese there is a very apt saying to describe Ugandans, eat by the tree, dress two cloths, the economy depends on aid, in fact, it is true, bananas are Uganda's specialty, Ugandans will go to the tree to pick bananas when hungry to eat.
There is basically no industry in Uganda, and many of the most basic necessities depend on imports and aid from other countries, such as our country often donating old clothes to Ugandans.
The average Ugandan earns very low, with most earning around a few hundred yuan a month. However, the price of Uganda is still very high, such as the price of daily necessities is 3~4 times that of China.
There are also many Ugandans who cannot afford even the most basic water, electricity, and gas, and can only eat one or two meals a day, and the cheapest rice noodles or banana rice (Uganda's local specialty, Ugandans can make bananas into many staple foods to eat).
Eating meat is a luxury for Ugandans, and the average Ugandan family cannot afford to eat meat except for major festivals. As for the clothes they wear, most of them are also donated by other countries, and our country donates a lot of clothes to poor African countries every year.
Since many Ugandan families are polygamous and have more children, with an income of only a few hundred yuan a month, in addition to supporting themselves, they have to support several children, just imagine how difficult life is for Ugandans.
03. Ugandan men are lazy.
The main reason why Ugandans have not solved the problem of food and clothing until today is that they are too lazy. They don't know how to fend for themselves, and they have to rely on aid for everything.
In fact, Uganda's natural environment is still very good, and it is not known how many times stronger than the natural environment of other African countries. There are many African lands with arid land that is not suitable for growing crops, but Uganda, on the contrary, has fertile land and sufficient annual precipitation, known as the "East African Plateau Water Town".
But Ugandans wasted such fertile land in vain because of their laziness. Most places in Uganda are more than 1,000 meters above sea level, the temperature is suitable, and everything you grow is crazy, and the Ugandans are only responsible for digging a hole to bury the seeds.
In fact, Ugandan women are still very hardworking, but most of the time they are taking care of children, even if they want to do farm work, they are not skilled, Ugandan men are like street walkers, wandering around all day, not asking about household affairs, neither fertilizing nor weeding the crop field, as a result, the grass grows wildly with the crops, and the harvest naturally decreases.
Now there are many Chinese contracting land in Uganda, growing crops and vegetables, with great success and also making a lot of money. This also reflects from the side that it is not that God is unfair to Uganda, but that Ugandans themselves do not know how to give themselves.
A brief look at Uganda
Uganda, fully known as the Republic of Uganda, is a landlocked country in eastern Africa. Across the equator, east of Kenya, south of Tanzania and Rwanda, most of the territory is located in the East African plateau, many lakes, the average altitude of 1000~1200 meters, known as "plateau water town". Also known as the "Pearl of Africa".
Uganda has a total land area of about 241,550 square kilometers and a total population of about 44.3 million (2021 statistics), the capital is Kampala, and the main cities are Luwero, Masaka, Mpiji and Mubend.

The last thing I want to say is; Ugandans are very friendly to Chinese, mainly because our country often provides them with selfless aid, giving roses with a lingering fragrance, and China's assistance to poor countries is no less than that of any developed country.
