On November 21, Myanmar military forces joined forces with the Southern Shan State Army (RCSS) into areas controlled by the Northern Shan State Army (SSPP) in the town of Muang Gong, where tensions were high.

On November 21, military troops and RCSS, passing through the PNO area, entered the SSPP activity area and planned to set up a new stronghold camp, a person familiar with the matter said. The military forces asked local people to cut bamboo and send it to them, and they had about 400 troops, so the situation was highly tense. The SSPP has already mobilized, and fighting may break out at any time in the precinct of Menggong township in the near future.

In addition, sources said that the RCSS also gathered about 400 troops in the town of Langko to be on standby, but this statement needs to be further confirmed.

On October 10, the RCSS issued a circular expressing its hope to meet with civil armed revolutionary organizations in Shan State and the federation to resolve the country's political issues.
