In the old times, ginseng and mink were rare things, "worth a hundred gold", not for ordinary people to enjoy, only the treasure of ura grass, belongs to the poor. The "Old Records of Chicken Forest" (author Wei Shengyong) published in the second year of the Republic of China (1913) described it as follows: "The grass is dark blue, its thickness is as fine as hair, the elders are more than four feet, and it is produced all over Ji Province; The valley rocks are drooping, not dry in winter, warm, can protect against cold and moisture. Agricultural workers and others are recommended. ”
Because ura grass is extremely closely related to people's lives, local officials in the northeast also attach great importance to it. After comparing the "Three Treasures", this poem fully affirms the status of Ula grass, and it is from the standpoint of the poor people, which is rare for a feudal literati, but the author's name is unknown. Thankfully, the poems are preserved in the book Shen Gu and have survived. From the poems, we also know that the Qing Emperor Nur Hachi also went to Ula with his feet, and fought the world in the south and the north. This is also a little supplementary information to the history of the Qing Dynasty.
Ula grass used to be mainly used in a type of ula shoe named after Ula grass.
