By the end of the 1990s, Hong Kong films were considered the last glory. First of all, Ma Chucheng, who came from a photographer, pulled Zheng Yijian to shoot a gangster film called "The Last Ancient Puzzle Boy" "Kowloon Ice Room", and then the big producer Xu Ke wrote and directed a dog-tailed sable work "Black Man 2", for a time the film industry was muddy, and even the last bit of glory was not retained.
However, during this period, Lin Chaoxian launched an alternative gangster movie, although it did not escape the category of bad films, but after the release, it both won the box office and gained word of mouth, leaving a place in the film industry before the bottom of "Infernal Affairs" in 2002 - this movie is called "Jianghu Emergency", starring Leung Ka Fai.
Leung Ka Fai: Bad film? I have no concept, I came as an actor.
I want to think that when a "black gold" swept the film industry, as a result, no role in the film industry for nearly three years could surpass "Zhou Chaoxian". Leung Ka Fai himself wondered, I remember that the lead actor of this movie seems to be Hua Tsai, how to act himself to become the main actor! Perhaps Andy Lau is also reflecting afterwards, gangster movies I used to play the big guy, how did I play the policeman and become a male second?
Therefore, after "Black Gold", Andy Lau almost no longer touched too positive roles, with "Dragon in the Jianghu" and "Dragon on the Edge" two gangster classics to return to the commercial film market; and Leung Ka-fai waited for 3 years before receiving a "black" role - playing gang gangster Ren Yinjiu in "Jianghu Emergency".
Ren Yinjiu acted so perversely and ostentatiously that he made too many enemies, and even the people around him always wanted to replace him. However, a trainee police officer (played by Eason Chan) is very sympathetic to him, so he deliberately let the wind say that someone is going to assassinate him. At first Ren didn't believe what he said, until a bullet grazed his scalp... On the surface, he is investigating his siblings, but in fact, the first object of suspicion is his wife Su Hua (played by Wu Junru).
Unlike Ren Injiu, as the wife of a gang boss, Su Hua is always wary of those around her and has a place in Ren Injiu's gangster power world. Therefore, after Ren Yinjiu's accident, he felt that the most powerful person to kill himself was Su Hua. The two were entangled on the edge of such love and hate, until they held a gang meeting called "Jianghu Emergency"...
Realistically speaking, there is no plot of this movie that can match the classics, not because it is included in the ranks of bad films by the academic school, but because the jumping plot and marginal spoof make it look too different in the cold Hong Kong-style gangster movies. What should have been supposed to shine on the key point of "who is going to kill Ren Injiu", which the audience was most looking forward to, turned out to be a "hodgepodge" in the end. One will talk about love, one will talk about assassination, one will cross to comedy, and one will jump to serious social themes.
Afterwards, someone asked Leung Ka Fai, who is also called a bad film, why "92 Black Roses to Black Roses" can win countless awards, while "Jianghu Rush" is only nominated? In this regard, Liang Jiahui replied solemnly, I have never had a bad film and a classic concept, I only know how to do my duty, I am an actor.
