My parents' house had to repaint the walls, and some old goods had to be disposed of when they were packing up. My dad said that he found a scrap collector the other day and sold 600 pieces of the old audio equipment in the house, all the CDs, VCDs, DVDs and my song tapes, a total of more than 90 pounds, filled with 3 vest bags, and sold for 45 yuan.
In the early 90s, when I bought those tapes, the price was 9.8 yuan a plate, which was very expensive, and the money for 2 tapes at that time could buy a pair of canvas basketball shoes. It's a pity to think that the dozens of tapes I've saved over the years have been taken away for 5 cents a pound. In fact, it is useless not to sell, there is no equipment to play tapes at home, and whether the tapes themselves can still emit sound also needs to be questioned.
In 1995, I was still in school, living with my parents, renovating the house, and my father paid for a lot of black press audio equipment. The speaker is JBL's, the CD player is avant-garde, the TV is SONY's, and the amplifier is what, and the TV cabinet more than three meters wide is full. Two large 1-meter-high loudspeakers were placed on both sides of the TV, a mid-sized speaker was lying on the TV, and two surround speakers were hung on the corner of the living room ceiling. The amplifier can only exert one-fifth of the power, if you open it again, the sound is too loud for the ears to stand, even if it is used so restrained, after watching a movie, the head is still shocked.
It seems to have spent nearly 20,000 yuan in total. At that time, more than 100,000 people could buy a three-bedroom and a hall of more than 100 square meters in the suburbs of Shanghai, and a few years later, my first job was only 1800 yuan. My dad also followed suit when he spent this money, and many families at that time bought this kind of home theater equipment, and I don't know where everyone got so much money.
At that time, the most advanced DVD player was LD, the size of the LD disc was about the same size as the vinyl disc, a feature film sold for 600-800 yuan, and the picture clarity was similar to that of DVD. Most of the LD discs of ordinary families are karaoke discs, three or five hundred yuan a piece, and the utilization rate is relatively high. The only few feature films were taken to the town house and shown to people when friends came. At that time, my family had an LD disc of "Four Hundred Years of Thrilling", and when the audio equipment was turned on, the audiovisual effect was really shocking, but after watching it a few times, I got tired of it.
The pile of equipment was purchased for a few years, and the utilization rate was very low. After the DVD came out, we only turned on the TV when we watched the disc, and other equipment could not be used. Later, these devices became a burden, every once in a while to open to try to be bad or not, but also very easy to accumulate dust, rubbing up is very difficult. Then it was completely idle.
When the second-hand electrical appliance market on Qiujiang Road in Shanghai was not yet demolished, there were several streets full of second-hand audio-visual equipment for sale. Every store was stuffed, speakers piled up to the ceiling, DVD players and amplifiers thrown all over the floor, and the styles and brands were similar to the ones I had. Once I saw a shop selling used DVD players, only to sell more than a hundred dollars, and also sent a box of discs.
