In ancient times, Liuzhou was located in the subtropics and had a rich biological population, such as the "Liujiang People", the White Lotus Cave, the Liucheng Giant Ape Cave, the Great Dragon Pond Carp Mouth and other sites famous all over the world, while many paleontological creatures in the Quaternary Period accompanied ancient humans to flourish in the vast land of Liuzhou.
"Journey of Life - Paleontological Fossil Museum" adopts a full-scene display method. The venue is set on the first floor, and the cave-shaped pavilion makes people feel as if they have traveled back to ancient times. The exhibition area is divided according to the three geological periods of paleozoic, mesozoic and late mesozoic. The fossils on display are rich in variety, complete in categories, varied and vivid, vividly recording the evolution of life and the evolution of various geological periods.

Paleozoic

The Paleozoic began about 570 million years ago and ended 230 million years ago. The fauna is most abundant among marine invertebrates, trilobites, molluscs and echinoderms, and later lower fish, paleoans and paleonttomers have gradually emerged. Ancient plants are dominated by marine algae.

The Mesozoic began 230 million years ago and ended 67 million years ago. The biological evolution of the Mesozoic Era is the most special, reptiles have developed greatly, not only large reptiles appeared on land, some of them also returned to the ocean, while others were able to move in the air, so the Mesozoic Era is called the reptile era.

The Cenozoic generation began about 67 million years ago and continues to this day. The organisms of this period are close to modern times, characterized by the rise and prosperity of mammals, and the emergence of humans in the later period; plants are mainly angiosperms, and the differentiation of vegetation belts is becoming more and more obvious. This part of the exhibition hall displays a large number of animal and plant fossils.
