Located on the Gulf of Tunis on the southern shore of the Mediterranean Sea, Tunis City is a beautiful coastal city with a population of about 1.2 million. Tunisia is a city where Arabic architecture meets modern architecture. The old city of Medina still retains its quaint Arabian Oriental color. Although the old city wall no longer exists, nearly ten gates are still well preserved, including Haimen, which connects the old and new cities, and Sukamen, which connects the old city to the suburbs. The bustling and lively street in the city center is Bourguiba Street, lined with trees, book kiosks and flower stalls. At the east end of the street is Republic Square, where a bronze statue of President Bourguiba stands. At the west end is Independence Square, with a bronze statue of the famous ancient Tunisian historian Kardun. A short distance east of the city center is the railway station and harbour, and to the north is the scenic Belviday Park in the city. The famous ancient Roman aqueduct aqueduct passes through the agricultural area of the western suburbs. Due to its proximity to Europe, Tunisia is often a centre for international conferences.

Carthage is located 17 km northeast of the city of Tunis. It was founded by the Phoenicians in 814 BC, 61 years before the city of Rome. It was the capital of Carthage, a powerful slave state in the Mediterranean, and was the political, economic, commercial and agricultural center of the Mediterranean region of North Africa at the time. The main buildings of that time were 34 kilometers long, 13 meters high and 8 meters thick, as well as palaces, temples, villas, houses, public baths, arenas, racetracks, theaters, cemeteries and harbors, which are still faintly recognizable today. Among them, the famous Antonian bath, built during the time of the Roman Emperor Antony in the 2nd century AD, has a Christian church site in the ancient city, which is the earliest Christian church in Tunisia. Most of the relics from the Phoenician era excavated are tombs, sarcophagi, tomb objects, etc.

In the city center there is the Great Mosque of Zaituna, and the medina is spread out on all sides around this mosque. The urban area consists mainly of commercial shops, handicraft workshops and residential buildings. There are no modern buildings here, and the tallest dwellings are only two floors. The city's Arabian market is full of Arabian terroir, and in the narrow and curvy alleys with vaulted roofs and stone floors, only two people can pass opposite each other. The markets were one after the other, shops were one after the other, and each alley was usually concentrated in a single industry, producing specific goods, maintaining a feudal, scattered mode of small workshop production. There are Copper Alley, Gold and Silver Jewelry Alley, Spice Alley, Clothing Alley, Hat Alley, Olive Wood Alley, Leather Alley, Antique Alley, Food Alley, etc.
