【Tasting Evaluation】I received an orange wine today, which is the first domestic orange wine I got.
It is the latest release of "Longting Natural My Friend Orange Wine 2021" released by Longting Winery.
Looking at the label, it is made of Petit Mansang variety, which is steeped for a short time, fermented by native yeast, and also passed through oak barrels.
Because wineries are practicing biodynamics, pesticide residues and sulfur control should also be stricter.
It is also quite a coincidence, just two days ago, a friend also asked about an Italian orange wine, and suddenly felt that it was related to orange wine recently.
This one is a spiral cap that is quite suitable for the characteristics of orange wine (morning drink, fresh), Burgundy bottle type, wine label pattern design is my favorite style, and it is also one of the best domestic wine label designs I have seen.
I put the wine in the refrigerated area beforehand, cooled it down to about 10 degrees, and opened it.
The color is very orange wine, dark golden yellow, there are trace bubbles, in order to retain more flavor, the wine does not do much clarification, looks a little hazy;
Yumelo, roasted almonds, apple peel, and a little ripe apricot fruit flavor and locust flower aroma, faintly revealing a hint of volatile acid;
The first sip is a little sweet, slightly higher alcohol, and the overall balance is better under the balance of fuller body and active acidity; The upper and lower parts of the entrance can immediately feel a clear astringency, which is a medium to weak intensity; The whole shows a certain level and structure, and the aftertaste can also feel a little salty.
Try this wine, I kind of want to eat Spanish fried mushrooms or Northeast famous chicken stewed mushrooms, haha, and it also brings back memories of my visit to Georgia.
