The staff told reporters that the Chongyang wood golden spotted moth is a common tree disease and insect pest, the high incidence period appears in mid-to-late July, and the garden department will routinely spray insecticide every year. Previously, the spray control effect was better, the insect pest was significantly controlled, this year the city rainy weather, the humid environment promoted the large number of chongyang wood moths, and the continuous rain also reduced the effect of spraying insecticidals. "The larvae of the Chongyang Wood Brocade Moth that appeared first in the street trees of The Bauhinia Road north of Yingtian Road were not managed by our bureau, because the eradication was not in place, resulting in serious insect infestations, which not only ate almost all the leaves of the sidewalk trees on the Bauhinia Road north of Yingtian Road, but also caused the pests to gradually spread to the Bauhinia Road south of Yingtian Road."

The staff member said that on October 14, the bureau also sprayed drugs on the street trees on the Bauhinia Road between Tianlu Road and Huashang Avenue to kill the Chongyang wood golden spotted moth. Now the killing effect is more significant, and the insect pest has been effectively contained.
