4. Spectacled bear
The spectacled bear, also known as the Andean bear, is the only bear in South America, and is called the spectacled bear because there is a pair of glasses-like circles around the eyes. Spectacled bears are usually active in the morning or at night, and during the day they hide in tree holes, caves, or tree trunks to sleep. Taxonomically , the spectacled bear is the closest living bear family to giant pandas.
