Early life
Don Cheadle was born in Kansas City, Missouri in 1964. His mother was a teacher and his father was a clinical psychologist. He has an older sister and an older brother. During his childhood, his family often moved from city to city.
From 1970 to 1974, Cheadle attended Hartley Elementary School in Lincoln, Nebraska. He graduated from Eastern High School in Denver, Colorado in 1982. In high school, he played saxophone in jazz bands, sang in choirs, and was active in the drama department, performing musicals, plays, and mimes under the direction of Catherine Davis.

Acting career
Cheadle appeared early in Hamburg Heights (1987) and in the film Colored Rattlesnake (1988). He began his career in the 90s of the 20th century, starring in "The Devil in Blue" (1995), "Rebounds: The Legend of the Goat" (1996), "Rosewood" (1997) and "Unruly Night" (1997).
His collaboration with director Steven Soderbergh resulted in the films Strategist (1998), Drug Network (2000) and Ocean Trilogy (2001-2007).

Cheadle was nominated for an Oscar for Best Actor for his role as Rwandan hotel manager Paul Rusabagina in the historical film The Rwanda Hotel (2004). From 2012 to 2016, he played Marty Kaan in the comedy series House of Lies; In 2013, he won a Golden Globe Award for this role. Since 2019, Cheadle has played Maurice Monroe in the American drama "Black Monday," a role that earned him a 2019 Primetime Emmy nomination.
Later, Cheadle replaced Terence Howard as a superhero war machine in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, expanding his global popularity. Personal life
In 2008, PBS's "African American Life 2" series told Cheadle's family history. DNA tests showed Chandle was of Cameroonian ancestry; Another DNA test revealed that of his African ancestry, one-third came from Senegal to Liberia, more than a quarter from the Congo-Angola region and the rest from western Nigeria and Benin.
Cheadle has two children and his long-term partner is actor Bridgid Coulter. They collaborated on "Rosewood Town".
