Speaking of the requirements of the car on the road, hysteria everyone will have a certain understanding: the width of a lane on the road must meet the width of a car's normal traffic; the traffic flow determines how wide the road to be built; the design of the intersection must meet the normal driving of 4 parties and 12 directions; the road has some basic requirements for lanes, passing lanes, rural roads, urban roads, county roads, national roads, highways and so on.

This article is unique, from the perspective of economic development to explain the requirements of the car on the road, that is, the quantity and quality of the road.
Before the 1950s, only 75,000 kilometers of roads were barely opened to traffic in the country, and the requirements for roads by cars were very low, and they were full of muddy roads and built along the terrain, or steep mountains, or over mountains, or terraces, or climbing crop fields, or meandering along the foot of the mountain, or along the shore of the water.
After the 1950s, China began to recover economically, a large number of roads were built, and the quality of road construction was improved at this time, using a combination of sand and clay. But on sunny days it was dusty, rainy and muddy, and the wheels were rolling. It is not open to traffic at night.
All in all, at that time, New China had just been founded, and the economy was exhausted by the long war. In those difficult years, the construction of roads was carried by the shoulders of the ancestors, which was the crystallization of blood and sweat, so it was also a rare thing to have a muddy road.
Even without any machinery, China still makes every effort to restore the national economy and vigorously build roads in accordance with the basic principle of "taking into account public and private interests, labor and capital, mutual assistance between urban and rural areas, and internal and external exchanges." About 33,700 roads were built in ten years. A solid step has been taken towards the development of the national economy.
From 1950 the GDP was 18.9618 billion yuan to 1960 it was 147.01 billion yuan, an increase of more than 120 billion yuan in ten years.
Economic development is inseparable from transportation, transportation is inseparable from the car, and the car is inseparable from the highway, indicating that the highway plays a decisive factor in economic development.
From 1960 to 1970, a total of 21,700 roads were built, which was another solid step for the growth of the national economy.
In terms of subgrade quality, due to the development of Daqing crude oil, oil slag as a binder instead of clay, at the same time, limestone materials have been widely studied and applied, limestone base refueling slag table has become the most important road structure form so that vehicles in the road driving has improved.
Roads have increased and then increased the circulation of goods, road quality has improved to ensure the speed and stability of vehicles, improve transportation efficiency, reduce the damage rate of goods, and the automobile transportation industry has relatively prospered a step.
In 1970, the gross national product was 227.97 billion yuan, an increase of more than 90 billion yuan from 147.01 billion yuan in 1960.
It further proves that the construction of highways is indispensable to the growth of the national economy.

In terms of quality, due to the fact that the road asphalt produced by the isolated island crude oil production of Shengli Oilfield has been greatly improved compared with the oil slag, and the asphalt gravel structure, penetrating pavement or upper and lowering pavement has been developed, the limestone at the grass-roots level has been considered to be crushed, and the calcareous limestone has become the main pavement material and structure of the highway trunk, which has further improved the quality of the highway pavement.
In 1980, the gross national product was 458.76 billion yuan, an increase of 230.79 billion yuan from 227.97 billion yuan in 1970. Directly flipped over.
A total of 14,500 kilometers were built between 1980 and 1990, of which 147 kilometers were highways.
Quality: In the mid-1980s, China built the Beijing-Tianjin-Tangshan Expressway, and the road surface adopted a new asphalt concrete structure form, which made valuable experience for the future research on the quality control of highway construction and set a new benchmark for the construction of high-grade highways in China.
In 1990, the gross national product was 1,887.29 billion yuan, about 4 times that of 1980.
With the pace of reform and opening up, the quantity and quality of roads have not been able to keep up with the pace of economic development, Comrade Deng Xiaoping's southern tour talked: "If you want to be rich, build roads first, get rich quickly, and build high speeds."
Therefore, from 1990 to 2000, China's highway construction built a total of 74,800 kilometers of highways, which is the sum of the roads built after 1950, of which the total number of highways is 16,314 kilometers, and the highway construction has gradually entered a period of rapid development.
Quality: mainly follow the asphalt concrete structural form.
In 2000, the gross national product was 9800.045 billion yuan, 5.2 times that of 1990.
The state saw the huge economic benefits brought by the highway, so it invested heavily in highway construction.
From 2000 to 2009, a total of 2.6 million kilometers of highways were built in China, of which 58,859 kilometers were expressways.
The GDP in 2010 was 4,032.6 billion yuan, 4.1 times that of 2000.
From 2010 to 2020, a total of 1.19 million kilometers of highways were built in China's highway construction, of which 161,000 kilometers were expressways
The GDP in 2020 is 1015986 billion yuan.
Driven by a large number of highway construction, China's economy has achieved leapfrog growth.
Quality:
In addition to continuing to use asphalt concrete structural forms, a lot of improvements have been made in the foundation, from the original dirt road surface is the roadbed to the current 70 cm to 1 meter thick roadbed; it also considers other problems affecting quality such as drainage.
All in all, the more roads there are, the better the quality, the higher the transportation efficiency, the greater the amount of logistics, and the more developed the economy.
