Throughout the history of Huairou for hundreds of years, there are few people who can be called "cultural figures". This phenomenon has been described as a "cultural desert". Huairou 300 years ago was accurately summarized by a Jiangnan literati as "the land is barren and simple, and the scholar is Confucian".
At that time, although "Huairou Xiaoyi, the inner arch of the Jing division, the outer border barrier, the Xiaochuan pass, the control of the shape of the victory", in the eyes of countless literati in the past, Huairou "the mountain is only big", and it is located in the "remote land of the mountains"; The people's livelihood is withering, the culture is not prosperous, Confucianism is bleak, and there are few students. A decent cultural reading book is just a "cumbersome" old book. In the understanding of the literati in foreign cities at that time, Huairou's culture could indeed be described as "absurd".
Wei Mingjun's "Wang Baojun"
In the old days, it was customary to refer to those who were knowledgeable and contributed to the cultural undertakings of a region for a period of time and achieved certain cultural achievements, as "Tongru" or "Great Confucianism". The so-called "Shixian Tongru" by the Jiangnan literati means that there is no cultural figure worth mentioning in the Huairou area.
Wei Mingjun's "Wang Baojun"
In the middle and late Qing Dynasty, the culture of Huairou developed. Gongsheng Zhongqiyun advocated the revitalization of culture and education, actively campaigned, and set up the "Wenyang Academy" created during the Kangyong period but could not be sustained.
At the end of the Qing Dynasty and the beginning of the Republic of China, the Gongsheng literati Liu Qingtang and Fu Baochen, and Zhong Caizhang, who rescued and repaired the records of Huairou County, although they did not meet the standards of the ancients' "Tong Confucianism", they all belonged to those who had contributed to the development of Huairou culture. And the experts who have made great achievements in the field of Huairou culture and are comparable to what the ancients called "Tong Confucianism" are more than those after the establishment of New China.
"Huairou historian Wang Baojun" contained in the inaugural issue of "Cultural Huairou" is a cultural figure at this level. In this article, Wei Mingjun wrote in exquisite words about the great achievements made by Mr. Wang, who was nearly ninety years old, in his spare time for more than half a century.
It is good that the author calls the old man Wang Baojun a "Huairou historian". Mr. Wang's local history research can be said to have accumulated 40 years of work, and the results were quietly recorded in 25 years after retirement.
Wei Mingjun's article focuses on recording Mr. Wang's persistent cultural pursuit and fruitful cultural achievements from three aspects: "Records of Zhuxian County", "Magenta Conch" and "History of Liwen". At the same time, it summarizes the contributions made by Mr. Wang Lao to a number of Huairou cultural activities and cultural industry planning in a random, anytime and anywhere over the past few decades.
We see in Wei Wenzhong that when Mr. Wang was sixty years old, he struggled to travel to the county and surrounding provinces and cities in order to cultivate the new county history of Huairou; I saw the seventy-year-old Wang Lao in order to promote the culture of red snails, check literature, examine monuments, search anecdotes, and write articles; I also saw that the 80-year-old Mr. Wang has traveled to various places in the past few decades, collecting historical materials, diagnosing fallacies, verifying historical facts, digging up the truth, examining place names, praising famous places, singing landscapes, and finally dedicating valuable cultural wealth to Huairou with a million-word poetry masterpiece.
If Wang Lao was seventy years old, he took a bus west to Harrier Yu, borrowed a wooden ladder from the villagers to climb to a height of four meters, and opened the gate of "Harrier Yu Fort"; In the summer when he was seventy-eight years old, in order to find a nostalgic poem, he squeezed the bus to the capital; At the age of eighty, details such as walking Qi Lian Pass and Autumn Factory Ancient Road are recorded in the text, and the three-dimensional sense of the characters will be stronger.
Unfortunately, the article does not cover Mr. Wang's amateur cultural research before retirement. In fact, during his tenure, Wang Lao has been taking advantage of the opportunity of going to the countryside and traveling on business trips to collect and sort out materials related to literature and history, and at the beginning of reform and opening up, he wrote and published research articles of great cultural value such as "Mo Lingpu Old Forest Smoke".
"Huairou Historian Wang Baojun" is a good article dedicated to a cultural celebrity who can be called "Tongru" since the establishment of Huairou. It is hoped that "Cultural Huairou", as an important cultural carrier in the district, will continue to upload some cultural figures who have had a positive impact on Huairou's cultural cause.
