Early life
Dominique Cooper was born in 1978 in Greenwich, London. His mother was a kindergarten teacher and his father was an auctioneer. Cooper has two brothers, Simon and Nathan, who is a musician in the band Modern. His great-grandfather published the weekly journal Kinematics.

Cooper attended John Bauer Primary School in Blacksis, London, followed by Thomas Talis School in Kidbrook, and then trained in acting and film editing at the London School of Music and Dramatic Art, graduating in 2000.

Cooper has worked in television, film, theater, and radio. His more famous roles may be Jesse Custer in the American drama The Missionary (2016-2019) and the young Howard Stark in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and has appeared in Marvel credits such as Captain America: The Avengers (2011) and the TV series Agent Carter (2015-16).
Cooper also starred in "Mamma Mia! and the 2018 sequel Mamma Mia 2.
Early in his career, Cooper appeared in the works of the Royal National Theatre and the Royal Shakespeare Company; He was widely acclaimed for playing the role of Darkin in the 2004 drama History Boy. In 2006, he returned to London's West End with the play, moving to Broadway and adapting it into a movie. Since then, he has starred in a range of credits, including the critically acclaimed costume films Growing Up Education (2009) and My Week with Monroe (2011), as well as the action films Lincoln the Vampire Hunter (2012), Need for Speed (2014) and Warcraft (2016).
Personal life
Cooper shares an apartment with his co-actors in "History Boys" and "Love Credits," James Corden, until Corden starts a family with his wife, Julia Carey. It was originally Cooper who introduced Corden to Julia, who had known Julia for many years and was the godfather of Corden's first child.
