Activated sludge status judgment

(1) The microorganisms that appear when the purification performance of activated sludge is good are bell worms, tired branches, lintel worms, lid fibrum, polyfibrella and various epiphytic animals and straw worms and other solid organisms or creeping organisms, when the number of these organisms reaches more than 1000 / mL, accounting for more than 80% of the total number of biological individuals, it can be concluded that this activated sludge has a high purification effect.

(2) Organisms that appear when the purification performance of activated sludge is deteriorated by multiple waves of insects, side trichomoniasis, house trichomoniasis, beanworms and other fast-swimming organisms. At this time the floc is very fragmented about 100um in size. In severe deterioration, only multi-wave worms and house trichomoniasis appear. Neither protozoa nor prozoa appear in extreme exacerbations.

(3) The organisms that appear when the activated sludge is restored from the deteriorated state are slow-swimming or creeping organisms such as diffuse swimmers, platypus, oblique tubeworms, and tipworms.

(4) The organisms that appear when the activated sludge is dispersed and disintegrated are slugs such as slugs and radiation amoeba. When these organisms appear in tens of thousands, the flocs become smaller, making the treated water turbid. When these organisms are found to be proliferating dramatically, this phenomenon can be suppressed to some extent by reducing the amount of sludge returned and the amount of air delivered.

(5) The microorganisms that appear when the activated sludge expands are coccella, various molds, etc., these filamentous microorganisms cause the sludge to expand, and when the SVI is above 200, these filamentous microorganisms are filamentous. There are fewer micro-animals in the expanded sludge than normal sludge.

(6) The microorganisms that appear when dissolved oxygen is insufficient are sulfur beetle bacteria. These microorganisms are adapted to survive when dissolved oxygen concentrations are low. These microorganisms appear because the activated sludge is black, rotten and smelly.

(7) Microorganisms that appear when aeration is excessive, and if the overaeration time lasts for a long time, various amoeba and rotifers are dominant organisms.

(8) When the concentration of wastewater is too low, a large number of microorganisms appear are wandering insects and so on.

(9) Microorganisms that appear when the BOD load is low. Epidermal worms, scaly worms, rotifers, oligoterans, etc. are dominant organisms, and these organisms are often indicators of nitrification.

(10) Organisms that appear when impact loads and toxicity are introduced. Because protozoa respond more quickly to changes in environmental conditions than bacteria, the impact load and the effect of toxicants on activated sludge can be seen by observing changes in protozoa. The most sensitive response to impact loads and poisons in protozoa is the lintel fibrella, and when the impact load and influx of a small amount of poison occur when the impact load and toxin flow into the protozoa decrease sharply.

The viability and reproduction ability of sewage microorganisms are relatively strong, and different growth environments will also cause differences in microorganisms. Good water quality may contain more microorganisms, and poor water quality will also cause harmful microorganisms to run rampant. These microorganisms are mainly screened and removed by chemical and biological means
