Mudskipper is a species of fish in the family Gobies, mudskippers, alias jumping fish, jumping fish and so on. It prefers to inhabit brackish water areas in estuaries, harbours and mangrove areas, as well as shallow water areas along the coast, as well as in mud and sedimenty mud on the substrate, and also enter freshwater. It is found in the northwest pacific ocean, from Vietnam to the north to Korea and southern Japan.
From the outside, mudskippers are like large loach with "long legs" and a pair of powerful fins under their abdomen, which help them walk, run and jump quickly on the beach.
Mudskippers also have extremely fast "running" speeds, when there is danger approaching, they will directly "flash" from the spot to other places, and catching mudskippers with bare hands is basically an impossible thing to do.
Mudskippers are distributed in the world's tidal flats, there are 25 known species, and there are 3 genera and 6 species in the coastal areas of the mainland, namely mudskipper, large mudskipper, green mudskipper, and large green mudskipper.
Mudskippers do not have high requirements for the living environment, have a strong tolerance to hypoxia and disease tolerance, plankton, sand silkworms, copepods, branches and benthic diatoms or blue-green algae are their food sources.
Mudskipper is a small edible fish, delicious meat, short food chain, low breeding costs, low investment costs, less fish diseases, easy to grow, live fish resistant to long-distance transportation, rich in nutrition, for China's Zhejiang, Fujian, Taiwan, Guangdong people widely considered to be good food products, the demand is larger. It can also be used as feed for chickens, ducks and poultry.
