Israel repeatedly attacked Aleppo airport after suspecting that Iran was transporting military supplies through Aleppo airport. On the evening of September 6, Syrian state news agency SANA accused Israel of renewing airstrikes on Aleppo airports in northern Syria.

The airstrike was reportedly carried out over the Mediterranean Sea and in the direction of Latakia, which destroyed the airport runway and made it impossible for aircraft to take off and land. The airstrikes also resulted in the injury of two civilians and other material damage. The attack triggered a secondary explosion and a series of fires that lasted for hours, causing secondary destruction.

Less than a week ago, Israel struck an airstrike on Aleppo International Airport in northern Syria and near Damascus, with the main target being the Syrian Scientific Research Center (SSRC) in southwestern Aleppo. Israel suspects it is developing a nuclear reactor.
