King of the Game: Osiris' Sky Dragon

author:qyh2333

In the Japanese version of the manga and anime, its English name is called "SAINT DRAGON - THE GOD OF OSIRIS" (i.e. The Divine Dragon , God of Osiris). This has led to it sometimes being mistranslated as "Osiris the Dragon of Heaven" (Osiris the Dragon of Heaven). What it really means in Japanese refers to the dragon of Osiris, not the body of Osiris. Osiris' Sky Dragon is the embodiment of Osiris.

King of the Game: Osiris' Sky Dragon

The prototype of Osiris' Sky Dragon comes from Osiris in ancient Egyptian mythology. Osiris was the Pluto king of Egyptian mythology, one of the nine-pillared gods, and one of the most important gods of ancient Egypt. He is a god who has been reborn repeatedly. He was eventually buried in the city of Abidos, where he was the patron saint. Osiris is the son of Gabri, the god of the earth, and Nut, the god of heaven. In Egypt, Osiris was the god of Hades, as well as the god of fertility and agriculture.

In reality, Osiris was an important ancient Egyptian deity, the god of agriculture, the controller of the Nile flood, and the judge of the underworld. Originally an enlightened king, he taught the people to grow crops and make wine, and he was deeply loved by the people. His brother Seth was jealous of him, tricked him into lying in a coffin and sealed it, and finally threw himself into the Nile and drowned him. The ancient Egyptians believed that this caused the nile to flood once a year. Legend has it that he had green skin, held a scepter and flail, and wore a white crown with red feathers on his head. This crown is the prototype of Osiris's Sky Dragon. Interestingly, his sister and wife, Isis, is the source of the name of another character in King of Games, Isis Ishüdal. Although Osiris is the god of the underworld, he is not an evil god. Rather, he symbolized the Egyptians' belief in the hope of eternal glory after death.
