I spent a whole month in the Peruvian Andes and it was a real trip - quite long, difficult, and demanding on many levels. I spent almost 30 days at an altitude of 4,000-5,000 meters above sea level, and staying long in difficult conditions can test my physical load capacity. Especially in the beginning, I experienced all the symptoms of altitude sickness, and after a week I slowly adjusted to the environment, and coca leaf tea made me get back on my feet. During this time, I visited the most interesting mountain peaks in the country, camped in the wild, and photographed the best mountain landscapes.
I traveled almost 6,000 kilometers through Peru in an off-road vehicle, which was more sensational and surprising than almost anywhere else I've been, as very few tourists drive around the country. Driving in Peru is a real challenge, definitely not suitable for novice drivers, any car can encounter some terrible situations, especially on mountain roads and highways, where there is a complete lack of any driving culture, making mastering the local driving style a real feat. Luckily, I've had success with this art, and for a long time I'll be used to forcing priority, using horns all the time, or flashing high beams.
