Recently, more than 2,000 acres of Tunisian soft-seeded pomegranates planted in Baxin Town have entered the ripening stage. Large, plump, sweet pomegranates are favored by consumers. Soft-seeded pomegranates have become the "golden fruit" for local villagers to increase their income and become rich.
In Xiaowanzi Village, Xinhe Village Committee, Baxin Town, Kong Xiangwei's pomegranate garden, bright red Tunisian soft-seeded pomegranates hang like red lanterns. Workers are busy picking ripe pomegranates, and the orchard is a busy scene.
Kong Xiangwei introduced Tunisian pomegranate varieties from the Henan Academy of Agricultural Sciences in 2012 for trial planting and was successful, and the pomegranate tree is growing well and has entered the full fruit stage. Kong Xiangwei told reporters that this year's pomegranates are listed slightly later but the price is good.
Grower Kong Xiangwei said: "The price per kilogram in the early stage of the market is 18 yuan, and the order price for these days is about 12 yuan per kilogram. ”
It is reported that the Tunisian soft seed pomegranate has a ruddy skin, soft seeds, large size, and is not easy to catch fire after eating, and is well received by the market, selling well in Beijing, Shanghai, Yiwu, Inner Mongolia, Guangxi and other places.
It is understood that Kong Xiangwei's family has planted a total of 208 acres of pomegranates, and this year is expected to have an income of about 1 million yuan. With the continuous development and growth of the industry, many villagers from the surrounding area have come to the base to work and achieve nearby employment.
Xiao Meiqin, a migrant worker, said: "I have been working here for nine years, and I have worked here since the base began to grow pomegranates, and I can earn about 20,000 yuan a year. ”
At present, Baxin Town has developed more than 2,000 mu of Tunisian soft-seed pomegranates in the village committees of Dimo, Laojie, Xinhe Village and other villages, with an output value of more than 12 million yuan.
