#Queen Victoria's sapphire and diamond coronet is another famous crown that I seem to have popularized but have not found when searching for keywords. [Cover your face]

The crown was designed by Prince Albert for his wife, Queen Victoria, in 1840, and in 1842 Victoria wore it in his own portrait, a small gold and silver crown with a metal frame in the shape of flowers and clovers, firmly fixed cushioned and kite-shaped cut diamonds and sapphires, and the crown cost £415 (equivalent to £37,750 today).

The portrait in Figure 2 is also one of the most iconic images victoria created during her early reign, and the sapphire brooch she wears is also a new wedding gift from her husband. And the way the crown is worn is also her husband's suggestion, which makes it more like a headband. (The illustrated portrait in Figure 3 shows another way the crown is worn.)

When Prince Albert died in 1861 at the age of 42, Victoria was devastated and spent the rest of her life often wearing mourning clothes and mourning jewelry. In 1866, she attended the opening of parliament (the first time since the death of Prince Albert) and she wore the crown, which was placed on the table next to her.

When Victoria died in 1901, the crown naturally went to her son Edward VII, then grandson George V, who gave it to his daughter, Princess Mary, along with some other sapphire jewelry belonging to Queen Victoria, as her wedding gift.

Princess Mary died in 1965 and the crown passed on to her son and daughter-in-law, and then passed down in the family until 2011, when they decided to sell the crown, the buyer was anonymous, he kept it for a few years, and then decided to sell it again, the buyer who had the intention of buying was a foreigner, and the British government intervened in 2016 to ban this piece of historically significant jewelry from leaving the UK.

In 2017, the V&A Museum announced that they had acquired the Crown and served as the central exhibit in the jewelry pavilion. [Melon Eating Masses]
