Zhang Weiwei for This Is China, No. 157: The Awakening of the Non-Western World

author:Observer.com

"With the awakening of the entire non-Western world, it is possible for us to explore a new path for this 'third period' of global governance order through struggle."

"Which civilization and system is on the 'right side of history' should be proved by the development of practice, and it is up to the people of all countries in the world to choose independently."

"Under the wave of awakening in the non-Western world, will the future world pattern be more fragmented or more integrated?"

In the 157th episode of "This Is China" broadcast by Oriental Satellite TV on August 22, Professor Zhang Weiwei, Dean of the Institute of Chinese Studies of Fudan University, and Professor Qiu Wenping, a specially invited researcher, discussed and held a dialogue on the topic of the awakening of the non-Western world.

Zhang Weiwei:

Not long ago, in this program, I quoted a remark made by the former Pakistani ambassador to China, he went to the United States two years ago, many places invited him to give a speech, and the American audience always asked him, what is the future of China? His answer was simple: "China is the future." That's my point too.

The fact that Americans ask this question actually implies a mindset among Americans: that is, China's future may be shaped by the United States. The mentality of Christian missionaries makes it so that the United States always wants to transform other countries according to its own model and maximize the interests of the United States, but now it seems that the more the United States does this, the more unpopular it is, the more the United States wants to contain China, and the more the non-Western world welcomes China.

Some time ago, I saw three polls that are very interesting, and I will share them with you. One is a poll conducted in ASEAN countries published by Japan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs on May 25. When asked which country in the G20 is the most important partner of ASEAN countries now and in the future, the first place is China, and 56% of Southeast Asian respondents believe that China is the "most important partner of ASEAN countries now". Japan and the United States ranked second and third, respectively, at 50 percent and 45 percent. The poll also asked which of the G20 members was the "most important partner of the future" of ASEAN countries, and 48% of respondents chose China, ranking first again. Japan and the United States ranked second and third, at 43 percent and 41 percent, respectively.

In fact, in recent years, the United States has been coercing ASEAN countries to oppose China, but the vast majority of ASEAN members insist on not taking sides. The United States originally wanted to hold a summit with ASEAN leaders in March this year, but due to the unconventional arrangements of the United States, it was collectively rejected by ASEAN members, and it was not until mid-May that the ASEAN summit was held, which gave the United States a little face, but Biden proposed an "ASEAN Aid Plan" to lure ASEAN countries away from China at the meeting, with an amount of only $150 million, which caused an uproar in ASEAN and even international media opinion.

In contrast, ASEAN has long since become China's largest trading partner, with bilateral trade reaching US$878.2 billion in 2021. The defense minister of Indonesia, the largest country in Southeast Asia, said publicly at the Shangri-La Dialogue not long ago: Indonesia was once deeply harmed by colonialism, and China is a wise, benevolent, and responsible anti-imperialist vanguard and a good friend of Indonesia.

The second poll was released on June 13 by the Ichkowitz Family Foundation in Africa. The poll found that China has overtaken the United States as the country with the greatest positive impact on Africa in the minds of young Africans.

According to the poll, 76 percent of respondents believe China is a country that has a positive impact on their lives, up from 72 percent in the United States. The young people argue that the three most important positive effects of China on Africa are: affordable consumer goods, investment in infrastructure, and jobs provided by Chinese investment.

The foundation's chairman commented, saying, "We see China coming to a leading position today. Other countries rarely participate in Africa's development, but China is participating. The role played by the United States in actual investment, real trade, and real infrastructure is negligible," he further noted, adding, "There is no doubt that China is the dominant force in Africa today." Overall, we see very positive attitudes towards China among young Africans, which will push Africa to engage more with China. Bloomberg in the United States also made an interpretation of this, believing that the results of the polls further show that China has won the geopolitical rivals of the United States and the European Union in competing with the United States for "African hearts".

Indeed, China adheres to the "people-centered" development concept, foreign economic and trade cooperation is also an extension of this concept, we focus on the improvement of local people's livelihood, which makes China quickly become Africa's largest trading partner and source of investment, in 2021 China-Africa trade volume has reached 254.2 billion US dollars, far more than the United States and Africa trade volume.

After the outbreak of the Russian-Ukrainian conflict, the United States seemed to suddenly remember the existence of Africa in the world, and some senior officials such as US Secretary of State Blinken openly demanded that African countries restrict their relations with Russia and expect African countries to make the so-called "right choice." However, the rotating chairman of the African Union and President Sal of Senegal visited Russia and met with Putin in spite of the opposition of the United States, and held constructive talks on strengthening cooperation between Africa and Russia in the fields of energy, wheat, and fertilizers.

In other words, African countries are consciously pulling away from the United States, knowing too well where their core interests lie, and knowing that China and Russia can really help them better than the United States.

The third is a poll in the Middle East, more than a decade after the outbreak of the so-called Arab Spring, a network called Arab Barometer interviewed nearly 23,000 people in nine countries and in the Palestinian territories from late 2021 to early 2022, the details of which have not yet been released, but the conclusions have been made public: most respondents believe that under the current so-called "democracy", their countries' economies are weaker, social unrest and corruption are serious. Dr Robbins, one of the project leaders, said that citizens of the Arab region may be seeking other political systems, such as the Chinese model. Over the past 40 years, he said, the Chinese model has lifted large numbers of China's population out of poverty. "This rapid economic development is what many people in our region want."

Speaking of the awakening of the non-Western world, it is necessary to mention the great changes in the political ecology of Latin America. Not long ago, we did a show on the subject, in which we talked about the refusal of a third of Latin American leaders to attend Biden's Summit of the Americas in Los Angeles. On June 23, shortly after the show was completed, Colombian left-wing leader Petro was elected president, which means that the 7 most populous countries in Latin America, Brazil, Mexico, Colombia, Argentina, Peru, Venezuela, Chile, only Brazil is still right-wing, the others are left-wing, and from the current polls, the probability of Brazilian left-wing leader Lula winning the October election is also relatively large. But even though Lula was not elected for various reasons, we can say that the scale of this "turn to the left" in Latin America is unprecedented in Latin American history.

The British newspaper The Times recently published an opinion piece titled "Petro's Election as President of Colombia Marks a Left-Wing Pink Wave Sweeping Across Latin America," which pointed out that the election of a former guerrilla to Colombian president proves that Colombian voters are tired of the self-inflated right-wing elite that refuses to address corruption and the widening gap between rich and poor. The United States should see this "pink tide" as a sign that its influence is weakening. The article said that the relationship between Latin American countries and the Trump administration in the United States is very bad, and as for the Biden administration, it is basically irrelevant. Please pay attention to the contemptuous attitude of Latin American countries towards the United States described in this article.

Of course, the Western media always like to regard the "loss" of the United States as China's "gain", the article said, China seized this opportunity to provide 300 million doses of COVID-19 vaccine to Latin American countries. China also helped Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro break U.S. oil sanctions, allowing his military to have a large number of weapons, and the opposition's attempt to seize power failed miserably. Chinese technicians work on a satellite tracking system in Argentina. In short, the article says that the United States is losing ground.

In February this year, the US "Diplomacy" magazine also published an article pointing out that Latin America "looks east." The article focuses on the expansion of China's influence in Latin America: China's trade with Latin America soared from $18 billion in 2002 to $450 billion in 2021 due to demand for commodities such as soybeans, iron ore, and oil.

Even before this left-wing wave swept through Latin America, center-right pro-American leaders in Latin America, such as Brazilian President Bolsonaro, Chilean President Pinheira, and Colombian President Duque, dismissed U.S. warnings that "there are risks to China's economic dealings, and welcomed massive investment and technology from China, including providing 5G network equipment for many countries in the region, developing lithium mines in Chile, and building a new subway for the Colombian capital Bogotá.

In the course of this dramatic change, China has been welcomed by many Latin American countries because it is a new partner that can replace the United States, but does not carry the historical burden of more than 200 years of imperialist acts like the United States.

Seeing the awakening and awakening of today's non-Western world, I can't help but think of a point once said by the famous British historian Hobsbawm, who looked back at the history of the entire 20th century and said, "In fact, the whole world has not really had peace since 1914." He divided the wars of the 20th century into three periods: the era of world wars centered on Germany, that is, from 1914 to 1945, that is, from The First World War to the Second World War; Then came the Cold War era when the two superpowers of the United States and the Soviet Union confronted each other, from 1945 to 1989.

Then there is the third period: on the one hand, globalization has opened up the exchange of commodity culture, on the other hand, it has exacerbated the gap between the rich and the poor, the problem of immigration, racial contradictions, etc., which have led to more conflicts. He believes that in the global governance order led by the existing US empire, it is difficult to ensure lasting peace, and the international community needs to explore new mechanisms for maintaining peace. Personally, I believe that with the awakening of the entire non-Western world, which includes antipathy and resistance to US hegemony, as well as more awareness of China's rise and the Chinese model, it is possible to explore a new path for this "third period" global governance order by striving.

This also reminds me of the mid-1940s, when Chairman Mao Zedong put forward two kinds of China's destiny from the strategic level at the critical moment when the Chinese nation was moving toward liberation, and later proved that Chairman Mao's strategic choices and judgments were extremely far-sighted. Today, we also need to think forward-lookingly about the destiny of the two worlds, one is the unipolar hegemonic world order and its institutional arrangements that are conducive to a small number of countries and capital forces, characterized by zero-sum games, beggar-thy-neighbor, extreme selfishness, and hegemonism; the other is the world and its institutional arrangements that benefit the majority of countries and peoples, which are characterized by the people as the center and the community of shared future for mankind as the direction to achieve the greatest degree of peaceful development and win-win cooperation.

In general, the tide of world history favors the latter, but the old forces will certainly not withdraw from the stage of history, and they are still resisting and sabotaging. We should unite all forces that can be united, including the positive forces of Western society, to fight for the latter world and the world order, Chinese today's thinking and choices will affect the future of the whole world.

Thank you!

Qiu Wenping:

First of all, I would like to talk about how the United States and the West have washed away their history of genocide and made themselves a "civilized country" and a "beacon of democracy." With the entry into force of the U.S. Act on The Prevention of Forced Uyghur Labor on June 21, I am outraged because it has had a very bad impact on the people of all ethnic groups in Xinjiang and my family and friends.

I have been wondering why Western society will fully accept the rumors of "genocide" in Xinjiang created by the United States without hesitation. After studying history, it is found that because in history they have solved the problem of ethnicity through systematic massacres, and they do not know that there are other paths to peace.

The westward expansion movement of the United States is a continuous massacre of Indians, and the bones of Chinese workers under the tracks of the Western Railway are Chinese laborers who acquiesced to being slaughtered under the Chinese Exclusion Act; The British had exterminated nearly 30 million rebellious Indians with massacre and starvation, hunted and trafficked black slaves in Africa for hundreds of years, and caused hundreds of millions of black casualties; Australia has nearly killed indigenous people, and the discovery of hundreds of indigenous child bones in Canada has uncovered its inhuman history; The "Jewish Final Solution" in World War II was a familiar tragedy.

Until 1963, martin Luther King Jr. delivered his famous speech "I Have A Dream", "I Have a Dream", that the United States was still a country that regarded blacks as an inferior race, an imperialist country that did not take human rights seriously, and its history of the end of apartheid was only 60 years ago. The United States has established itself as a "defender of human rights" in recent decades, a political tool developed in response to the needs of the Cold War to stigmatize socialist countries such as the Soviet Union.

After the Cold War, the United States found that the "human rights stick" was very useful, and this "false" crime could rationalize its hooligan behavior, and strike and sanction any country that did not conform to the interests of the United States at will, which was a weapon to coerce the alliance and seek unipolar hegemony. The United States went all out to wash away its own black history, transformed itself into a "human rights defender." In this regard, the Western countries, which are also full of blood debts, are naturally happy to see it succeed, jointly bleach, and become the "holy fighters of human rights" for justice. And racism in the United States has never gone away, the Ku Klux Klan still uses lynching blacks to this day, and in June this year, eight police officers in the United States fired 90 shots and killed another black man.

The second point I would like to make is that the Second World War was the starting point for mankind to emerge from the hegemony of imperialism. The road to socialism has gone through ups and downs and ups and downs. Since the first world war, this new concept of liberating mankind has taken root for the first time in developing countries, and it is the greatest threat to the American and Western aristocrats and capital-plundering civilization, and the awakening of the people at the bottom has made the exploiters and aristocrats extremely afraid and hateful. For henceforth they can no longer slaughter the toiling masses at will in the name of "God." So Churchill would say on the first day of the soviet union that "we must strangle the Soviet union in its cradle."

The extreme hatred of socialism is the instinct of the exploiters, the disintegration of the Soviet Union has made the mentality of the United States and the West fully inflated, as long as China is crushed, the socialist concept can be completely eradicated, the nobility and capital can celebrate each other, and there is no need to worry about the resistance and flight of the "sheep". This kind of delusion is the ideological root of the United States forming a so-called "alliance of values" to encircle and suppress China.

U.S. Secretary of State Blinken goes around preaching that China has "undermined" the rules of the international system and U.S. and Western values. What are the values of the United States and the West? It is the imperialist system of exploitation that they have established called "democracy, freedom, and human rights," which is actually a system of imperialist exploitation by power and plunder, and is a colonialist brainwashing technique in which the United States and the West oppress the people of the whole world and extract the poorest nations to serve the capitalists.

China's achievements today are forged by the sweat, tears and blood of Chinese people, and in the eyes of the United States and the West, this spirit of struggle has become evidence of the "yellow peril".

After World War II, the national liberation movements in various parts of the world surged up, and the combination with the socialist trend of thought was a completely new civilization evolution and attempt. Although the Soviet Union collapsed, it was only a failure of the Orthodox civilization's attempt to adapt to socialism, and it could not negate the profound insight of Marxism and the legitimacy and inevitable victory of the laborers in their struggle for rights.

The great success of China's Confucian civilization combined with socialism has proved with practice that Marxism can be completely integrated into different civilizational systems. This new civilization system that is higher than the jungle civilization needs continuous trial and progress, and each nation needs to form a new civilization lineage through its own national consciousness and cultural integration.

Finally, let's talk about how "civilized nations" should have the ability to evolve on their own. The characteristics of different civilizations are actually reflected in their own special belief systems, while adhering to their own civilizational self-confidence, countries that keep pace with the times and integrate advanced cultures can have a place in the forest of the world's nations. As President Xi Jinping said: "The West has formed a set of civilization theories that we must learn from, but we cannot copy and paste." ”

History proves that no country or region that has abandoned its own belief system and become a dependent civilization can develop. Because without the resistance of the native civilization, the secondary civilization is mentally unable to resist the external infiltration and control of the dominant civilization: the Catholic secondary civilization in Latin America lost itself in drugs and civil wars; Africa has been at war for years in the struggle between Christianity and Islam. When the native civilization falls to its knees and dies, it is the day when the country becomes a "racecourse" in the West.

Freedom from colonialism and imperialism requires a long struggle, preconditioned for the awakening of one's own civilization. The International System of the United States and the West inherits the colonialist system dominated by massacre and plunder, is the joint rule of the financial capital and the military-industrial complex, its nature is exploitation and enslavement, it is good at using religious "extermination orders" to form new "jihad" gangs, stigmatizing countries that disobey the rule under the banner of "democracy" and "human rights", and the hysterical conquest of Russia is actually the beginning of the "Crusades" of the new era; In essence, it is just a modern version of the Holy See, just draped in a "new dress of the emperor's human rights". If we tear off this layer of painting skin, we will find that the brainwashing game of ideological hegemony and vote democracy constructed by the United States and Britain is actually a childish farce.

The future of the world is really a contest between these two civilizational ideals: the anglo-Saxon Protestant hegemonic civilization and the multi-civilizational civilization that liberates the oppressed peoples. Islam and Christianity have a universal concept of equality, and the concept of "salvation" hides the dream of equality for all. The United States and the West have alienated the concept of "salvation", and the interpretation of God has fallen into the hands of capital and nobility, making theocracy an accomplice of the exploiters, and the religious enlightenment that is more in line with human liberation is the direction of the development of monotheistic civilization.

Personally, I actually prefer to see a scene of "peaceful competition" among civilizations: which civilization and system are on the "correct side of history", which should be proved by the development of practice and independently chosen by the people of all countries in the world. But under the insane political pressure of the United States and the West, which refers to deer as horses, each country may have to make its own choice: to become a member of the dependency system, to become a lamb to be slaughtered; It is sometimes an unavoidable question to combine one's own civilization with a new culture and to strive for one's own independence and fair international relations.

The resistance and resistance to U.S. hegemony in Latin America, the Middle East, Southeast Asia, and India, as well as Russia's war for the survival of civilization, are testimony to the advent of the "post-American era": the awakening of the non-Western world is in full swing. Thank you!

Roundtable discussion

Host: We have just looked at the awakening of non-Western countries from many angles, and the reason for the awakening of these countries is the desire for development, realizing that they are being harvested round after round, and the obstacle to their development is the hegemony of the United States and the West.

Zhang Weiwei: I think the characteristics of this round of awakening are that, on the one hand, the United States is more unscrupulous in attacking China, on the other hand, China is indeed rising rapidly, so there is a contrast, that is, the good feelings for China have increased, the good feelings for the United States have declined, and after the comparison, a new awakening has emerged.

For these regions, China is their biggest trading partner, and China provides them with the most advanced technology, which is seen as a witness for developing countries, and it is shocking to see your progress. So this is a kind of awakening, in fact, China's "people-oriented" model, that is, the people-centered development model, focusing on people's livelihood, focusing on development, is the subtle impact of the Chinese model.

The infrastructure formed by China's "Belt and Road" initiative is really all designed and built with China's help, and it is world-class, and Western countries have not done this for so many years.

Qiu Wenping: Yes, the United States spends $2 trillion in Afghanistan, if it is not used for war, what can the country be built with $2 trillion? High-speed rails and highways are everywhere, and the people's income is high, and as a result, $2 trillion is used to beat people and massacre local residents, and we have all seen the final results.

Host: One is engaged in sabotage and the other is engaged in construction, which are two different approaches that other countries can see very clearly. Under the hegemonic pressure of the United States and the West, so many countries have awakened, and in the process of awakening, what challenges may they face?

Zhang Weiwei: There are still quite a few challenges, one of which is that the United States and the West, through their agents the "Fifth Column," are engaged in sabotage in these countries. This comprehensive "turn to the left" in Latin America is indeed unprecedented, because the United States has penetrated the deepest in Latin America, but I am not afraid of you today, including Colombia and Mexico, and the United States is engaged in assassinations, which shows that the fifth column in their country may also suffer a lot of setbacks, and the common people are not satisfied with these pro-American forces. The other is a sense of justice that everyone can feel, not to see the United States as important, this is a huge psychological change, once most people think so, it becomes a trend. The world has been miserable for a long time, and they really feel this.

Host: You just said that this time is the largest and largest "leftward turn" in Latin America, is this the largest scale involving the most countries?

Zhang Weiwei: The country has the most, the largest population, and the widest scope. As I said just now, 6 of the 7 populous countries in Latin America are now in power on the left, which shows that everyone is too dissatisfied with the United States, where there is oppression, where there is exploitation, where there is resistance.

Host: Everyone deeply feels that the fundamental reason why their country has not developed well is that it is constantly being harvested by the United States and the West.

Qiu Wenping: Yes, we say that the hegemonic system and moral value system built by the United States and the West are the result of the victory of the war, and it has always used war to maintain this value system.

Host: The United States and the West have gained and won in conflicts or wars, and then in turn instilled that my set of values is good.

Qiu Wenping: Yes, the anti-American sentiment in South America has always been there, but in fact it has been constantly defeated and subverted, and the flame of social justice has been burning, but if the timing is right, does the United States have the strength to carry out large-scale subversion of South American countries today? It is clear to everyone that without this ability, the people's aspirations are clear, and these democratically elected countries, in the form of political power, especially Colombia, have never "turned left", and today they have "turned left".

So it's time for the flames to burn, what should the United States do? The "paper tiger" used to be through deterrence, psychological role and brainwashing, when these two did not work, the United States and the West could never be dead-hearted, then its dying struggle is predictable, and the struggle is very fierce.

Zhang Weiwei: This time there is a characteristic, in the past, I dared to be angry and did not dare to speak, this time I dared to be angry and dare to speak, and everyone dared to say it.

Host: Is this kind of awakening more intense and lasting from the current point of view?

Zhang Weiwei: I believe that this is the trend of the times, that is, people are exploring their own path, of course, it is not easy for developing countries to find a successful path. So I always say, I have traveled to more than 100 countries, more than 70 are developing countries, and very few people have really found their own path to success. China is one of the few people who have found its own path to success, so the Chinese experience is very compelling, we are actually very low-key, very modest, but people still want you to introduce the Chinese model, wherever you go.

Qiu Wenping: I often use an analogy, I often feel that the United States and the West are like a group of "wolves", the United States is the "head wolf", but now the recent HARVEST OF the United States to Europe, the upside-down between the euro and the dollar, to put it bluntly, that is, when the "head wolf" is really hungry, it begins to eat the weak "wolves" in its own "wolf pack". How can such forms and alliances completely suppress the surging tide of non-Westernization in the world?

Host: It's a very dangerous thing to be an ally, and you don't even know if it's your turn to be harvested next.

Qiu Wenping: Yes, and after being "eaten", you can only grit your teeth and swallow bitter water, no one in Europe accuses the United States, only a few, and you have to continue to resist the pressure to go to the front line to confront Russia, in a self-injurious way, there is a feeling of bitterness.

So I think it is very troublesome for the United States to want to engage in plunder, because other countries are not developing fast, they are originally plundered by it, they are originally "sheep", if all developing countries and developed countries are combined now, that is, we have the consciousness of not being "eaten", this is the consensus, why should I be exploited by you, the previous words are based on power and hegemony, then now the decline of the United States and the rise of China, so that these countries have a second choice.

Zhang Weiwei: In addition to the choice of roads, there is also the rise of China, China has become the world's largest trade in goods, one of the largest investors. That is to say, the non-Western world can live without relations with the West, and can live or even live better by developing trade and technical cooperation with China, which is a change that has never been changed in the past.

Speaking of "China is the future", first of all, it is a very intuitive feeling, China's future economic scale and market is really large, Europe, the United States can not be compared, and China is a country that is equal to people, providing a new development model, can learn from it, do not have to copy, these are clearly placed there, the world is really different.

Qiu Wenping: We use the concept of a community with a shared future for mankind to look at the problem from a more grand and human perspective. We have done the same for peaceful coexistence, mutual integration and formation of a consensus for common development and win-win cooperation. So there is a reason why China is welcomed, and I think the impact on the world is quite large.

Zhang Weiwei: The "divide and rule" of the United States and the West and our "unity and prosperity" are two completely different lines of thought, and now I think the world is willing to develop in the direction of "unity and prosperity", and most non-Western countries hope for unity, hope for prosperity, hope for development, and hope for prosperity.

The audience asked questions

Audience 1: Some people think that modernization was carried out with several industrial revolutions, and the essence of modernization is a kind of Westernization. What do the two teachers think about this?

Zhang Weiwei: We have solved it in theory a long time ago, because mainstream Western political science has long believed that modernization is Westernization. Domestic "public knowledge" also spreads this kind of discourse in the West. From the empirical point of view, how many successes have been made in copying the Western model for modernization? This shows a truth, that is, you want to Westernize, the West does not give you Westernization, it super exploits you, we call it the "dependency system", you are on the periphery, it is in the center, it makes a lot of money, and then it gives you a copy of a system, they are not like this, when they rise on their own, they do not engage in one person, one vote, but imperialism, gunboat diplomacy.

As a result, after they are relatively successful, ask someone else to make one person, one vote, 100 political parties, and then it will control you. This "total Westernization", including economics, politics, westernization of all aspects, now proves to be very stupid, I have traveled through more than 100 countries to come to a cautious conclusion, I am willing to argue with anyone, a non-Western country, a non-Western society, if you copy the Western political system, then it will be two ends, from hope to disappointment, from hope to despair. This is a basic judgment. China has embarked on a real path to success, and one of the implications of my reference to "civilized state" is that China is redefining modernization.

Qiu Wenping: One of the problems with the concept of modernization is the Western concept, which is just a kind of guidance for discourse traps and concepts. In my opinion, behind several industrial revolutions is the ideological revolution, and behind the ideological revolution is the institutional revolution, which is the core.

Many of the vast number of developing countries have become members of the "dependency system" and a member of the so-called "democratic system". We can see their development clearly, this secondary civilization cannot develop at all, under the control of this vote democracy in the United States and the West, it has completely become a "lamb" that has been exploited. Once this concept is deconstructed, it is actually an institutional problem.

Zhang Weiwei: I always say that as soon as you go abroad, you love the country, and an important reason is that when you go to most Western countries now, especially to the United States, you will find that if you look purely from the appearance of modernization, China is more modern and more developed. In the past, many of our cultural people were shocked by the West, first of all by its appearance, wow, its airport, its highways, etc., in this regard we have surpassed the West, because we are a world-class infrastructure, behind the credit of software, our ideological breakthrough and liberation.

Audience 2: Teacher Zhang mentioned the problems caused by globalization, and I also feel that in the past two years, there seems to be a state of global regression and "anti-globalization", which is a kind of "long-term integration, long-term integration"? Under the wave of awakening in the non-Western world, will the future world pattern be more fragmented or more integrated?

Zhang Weiwei: I think the "anti-globalization" that has emerged now is not simply a problem of "long-term integration, long-term integration and long-term division". In fact, there is a crisis in the globalization led by capitalism and neoliberalism, because in the whole Western world, there are almost no exceptions, globalization has made their transnational corporations, their rich people full of money, they are the beneficiaries, but it has not adopted a better distribution system, so that they can benefit from globalization and share it among the majority of the people in the country, so its system is in trouble.

The next step is not simply a repetition of past globalization, but more likely that China is leading globalization, because more than 100 countries are responding to China's Belt and Road Initiative. In fact, China is the world's largest trading country, this is China-driven globalization, we very much adhere to this principle, consultation, co-construction, sharing, this is the golden rule that Foreign Minister Wang Yi said, and now it proves that this principle really works. I remember a few years ago someone said that the United States is going to withdraw from the WTO and the World Trade Organization. I said it's going to quit, we're going to take more than 130 countries (China is their biggest trading partner) to continue to push our globalization, and I think it's going to be a new round of globalization.

Qiu Wenping: This is a new concept. I think the most core issue is to look at the United States and the West, especially the extent to which the United States is crazy, and now we can see very clearly that China does not export ideology to the outside world, and we are leading social development and international development in the way of cooperation and symbiosis and a community with a shared future for mankind.

The Spirit of Imperial Hegemony in the United States, frantically seeking various military and political alliances around the world, and struggling economically, Southeast Asia gave $150 million. After all, the United States now has a certain advantage in many high-tech fields of economy and science and technology, and the difficulty is that if it can participate in the EU, then social division and globalization retrograde are possible.
