In today's east-central Africa, there is a sovereign state called the "Republic of Rwanda".
What is unexpected is that this once inconspicuous small country has quickly reached its peak in just over two decades, and it is even more feared by Western countries.
So, what kind of country is this?
What has it been through in just a few decades?
And what brought it to the top?
First, colonial rule, class contradictions intensified
With a land area of only .6 million square kilometers and a population of 12 million, the Republic of Rwanda is an extremely ordinary mountainous country in Africa.
However, such an inconspicuous small country hides an unknown tragic life behind it.
As early as the period of Belgian colonial rule, the insidious and despicable colonial rulers deliberately provoked ethnic contradictions within Rwanda in order to better control Rwanda.
The colonizers deliberately divided the Rwandans into two ethnic groups: Tutsi and Hutu.
The basis for dividing these two races is the amount of personal property and the height of their stature.
Thus, in Rwanda, the rich and tall are classified as Tutsi, while the poor and short are classified within the Hutu race.
Ethnic division not only undermined the will of Rwandans to unite against the colonizers, but also exacerbated class contradictions in Rwandan society.
In order to solidify the colonial power of Belgium, the Belgian colonial rulers also issued different identity cards to Rwandans of different ethnicities.
Since then, in Rwanda, ethnicity has become a symbol and complement to individual identity. This deliberate and vicious act has succeeded in dividing the relationship between the Tutsi and Hutu peoples, while at the same time sowing the seeds of hostility and hatred for the Hutu people in the hearts of the Hutu people.
Second, blame China, and contradictions continue to intensify
In order to further intensify the contradictions between the two races, the Belgian colonists came up with another poisonous plan.
They single-handedly orchestrated the death of President Habialimana in the plane crash that occurred in 1994.
After the death of President Habialimana, the Tutsi and Hutu people placed the blame on each other, which led to a large-scale civil war.
At that time, Rwanda, at the deliberate instigation of Belgium, made a large order to China, indicating that tens of thousands of machetes would be made.
Because of the large amount involved in this list, staff on the mainland, out of the interest of prudence, specifically asked Rwanda about the use of the machete.
Rwanda, on the other hand, said that it was because bananas were on the market in large quantities and that machetes were needed to harvest bananas.
However, Rwanda's real intention in ordering the machetes was not to harvest bananas, but to buy weapons in the outbreak of civil war.
However, China did not know about this at that time, but China became an accomplice in the Rwandan civil war.
I have to say that the role of Belgium's treacherous scheme of "killing two birds with one stone" has indeed been fully exerted.
For a time, Rwanda was covered in rivers of blood, corpses were strewn across the field, and it was reduced to a "purgatory on earth".
China has also been pushed to the "cusp" by public opinion around the world, while other countries are hiding and watching jokes.
At this time, the United States, which has always called itself the "world's policeman", did not intervene, but instead allowed the turmoil to intensify. After all, Rwanda is different from Afghanistan, Iraq and other countries, it does not have rich oil and other mineral resources, how can the mercenary United States wade through this muddy water?
In the face of this devastating civil war in Rwanda, family and friendship have ceased to exist, and people have arbitrarily drawn swords against their former relatives and friends for the sake of so-called ethnic differences. In Rwanda at this time, class contradictions intensified to the extreme.
At that time, nearly 10,000 people were dying every day in Rwanda, and no one knew when the disaster would end.
Third, the great man was born, and the situation turned dangerous into a safe place
Against the backdrop of a brutal civil war, Rwanda is in imminent danger of national subjugation.
At this moment, a great man who turned things around came out of nowhere.
He is the sixth president of Rwanda, Paul Kagame.
After Kagame came to power, he took various measures to resolve the conflict between the Tutsi and Hutu tribes and stop the crazy people in the war.
Kagame is well aware that the conflict between Tutsi and Hutu stems from Belgian colonial rule.
In order to ease the antagonistic relationship between the two communities, Kagame led by example, claiming that he was neither Tutsi nor Yuhutu, but Rwandan.
His remarks were meant to tell the people that Rwanda has not been divided into ethnic groups since ancient times.
In order to completely eliminate the contradictions between Tutsi and Hutu, Kagame abolished the different ethnic identity card system that had been in place in Rwanda for several years, allowing people of both communities to live together in Rwanda.
Since then, in Rwanda, ethnicity is no longer a complement to identity.
Kagame also enacted strict laws that would not allow anyone to re-mention the civil war and not change their names back to their original people, or they would be punished according to the law.
Under Kagame's strict governance, the Tutsi and Hutu finally put aside their prejudices and hatred and returned to the Rwandan nation, which was friendly and inseparable in the past.
Fourth, "plagiarize" China, counterattack on the peak
After the end of rwanda's civil war, the country's economy was corrupt and its livelihoods were unusually poor.
In order to change the decadent economic situation, Kagame decided to reform the economic system.
Looking at the world economic situation of the great changes in the 21st century, Kagame realized that the Western capitalist path was not suitable for Rwanda, and at this time, the rise of Socialist society in China attracted his great attention.
Kagame believes that China and Rwanda have similar civil war backgrounds and development experiences, so he decided to emulate China's economic development model.
In agricultural construction, on the one hand, Kagame launched land reform to mobilize the enthusiasm of farmers in production, and on the other hand, he actively introduced China's agricultural science and technology, which promoted the scientific and sustainable development of Rwanda's agriculture.
In terms of urban construction, Kagame has also vigorously introduced Chinese capital, and the two projects it has introduced, UnionPay and Guangzhou, have made extraordinary contributions to Rwanda's economic development.
By "copying" China's economic development route, Kagame once led Rwanda to a rapid economic take-off.
Rwanda's gross national product has doubled in recent years and has become one of Africa's six largest economies, and its changes are rapid.
Kagame chose to emulate China's development path for a number of key reasons.
First, China and Rwanda have similar colonial backgrounds, so the two countries feel sorry for each other, which is more conducive to cooperation between the two countries. Moreover, China has always pursued an independent foreign policy of peace and has always emphasized "non-interference in the internal affairs of other countries", which president Kagame attaches great importance to, so it has become the cornerstone of cooperation between the two countries.
Second, in the process of learning from China's development path, Rwanda has gradually found a development path suitable for its own characteristics, thus achieving leapfrog economic development.
In the process of win-win cooperation with China, Rwanda has established a deep friendship with Chinese people, and has also helped China's economic development.
Therefore, when China proposed the "Belt and Road" development policy, Rwanda also followed suit, signing a large number of agreements with China, further deepening cooperation between the two countries.
However, all this is seen and remembered by Western countries. As we all know, Western countries have always coveted the development force of socialism and have their eyes set on socialist countries in the world. With the rapid development of Rwanda's economy, especially its increasing influence in Africa, Western countries are naturally very jealous of it.
In addition, the key to Rwanda's take-off is to emulate China's economy. The increasingly close ties between Rwanda and china's economy have naturally become the "thorn in the eye and thorn in the flesh" of Western countries. In particular, on October 28, 2016, Rwanda was elected as a member of the United Nations Human Rights Council, and its strength is not to be underestimated by Western countries.
Seeing that Rwanda's relations with China are getting better and better, Western countries can't sit still. They began to play off the civil war in Rwanda more than two decades ago, claiming that without China's tens of thousands of machetes, there would be no massacres at that time.
However, in the face of the vicious distortions and blame-prevarications of Western countries, the Rwandan people are unwilling to believe it, and they have resolutely chosen to side with China. I have to say that the pattern of Rwandans is indeed very large, and they dare to break the rumors of the Western world, correct the chaos, and firmly stand on the side of China.
Rwanda's take-off history once again strongly proves China's determination and confidence to love peace and adhere to win-win development with friendly countries. In the case of Western countries maliciously distorting the facts and splashing dirty water, the Rwandan people can still unswervingly stand on China's stand, and this friendship will never be forgotten by the Chinese people!
Rwanda's successful experience also shows that China's economic development path is correct, scientific and can be used as a reference.
And the reason for this is nothing more than two points:
First, China's development path was explored by the predecessors from continuous exploration, and it is the result of continuous practice.
Second, in the process of discovery, China has always followed the objective law of social development and always adhered to the basic principle of "specific analysis of specific problems", which is naturally scientific.
