Before July 15, the authorities tried to round up the monster fish twice, but all of them failed. However, they did not dare to give up the attempt, because the fish in the lake was so terrifying that it was most likely an alligator eel (not entirely certain at this time).
The alligator eel, also known as the alligator or the great finches, is native to the Americas because it has a mouth and teeth similar to that of a crocodile, hence the name. It is the largest of the trichines and one of the largest freshwater fish in North America, the longest can grow to about 3 meters and can weigh more than 150 kilograms.
Around the 1980s, alligator eels were introduced to the mainland as an ornamental animal. However, in the process of introduction, there will be a phenomenon of crocodile eels escaping, or some people do not want to raise and release, resulting in them entering the natural world and becoming invasive species.
The horror of the alligator eel is that it is very powerful, and in North America it even hunts the cubs of the alligator (in retaliation, the alligator will also eat the cubs of the alligator gar). But on the mainland, there is no such creature to restrain the alligator eel, so that they can survive without scruples, and list all the fish in their waters as their food list, what they want to eat.
Although this crocodile eel in Yunchan Lake is not so huge, its combat power is not weak at all, and its teeth are very sharp. The fish is extremely aggressive to the creatures in the lake, even to the inhabitants of the vicinity, and there seems to be a lot less fish in the lake than before.
Far from it, on August 17, in a residential area in Taizhou, Jiangsu Province, a young boy saw a fish in a landscape pool. He tried to reach out to tease the fish out of curiosity, but was bitten 3 fingers. After catching the fish, people were dumbfounded, they found that it was a crocodile eel that was 70 centimeters long and weighed more than 10 pounds, but no one knew where the crocodile gar came from.
Therefore, since this crocodile eel has been discovered, the local authorities cannot let it go and must be caught. You know, the water area of Yunchan Lake is about 180 acres, with a total capacity of 210,000 cubic meters, and it is not an easy task to drain the water. At present, the water of Yunchan Lake has basically been drained, but until now, this fish has not been caught.
This is not the first time that crocodile eels have been rounded up by pumping water, but in May this year, crocodile eels were found in a pond in Xiamen, Fujian Province, so locals drained the pond to catch it. Sure enough, several old uncles found a crocodile eel that was 1 meter long and weighed 40 pounds here!
As you may have noticed, the cases we cite are all recent events that don't need to go back too long. That is to say, cases of crocodile eels being found are endless, which shows that the problem of their invasion of the mainland is still quite serious.
