Have you ever drunk "cat coffee" and ever seen a musk cat? (Picture 2) This animal is very picky, they only chew the best coffee beans, but they can't digest the coffee beans, so they will eventually excrete these coffee beans.

Enzymes in the musk cat alter the structure of the protein in the coffee bean, thus removing some of the acidic substances in the coffee bean, making the coffee more "silky". This is called "cat coffee".

After excrement, musk cat coffee beans sell for $600 per pound, plus retail profits, packaging and shipments to the other side of the globe, and sell for up to $2,000 a pound. Where there are high profits, there will be "crooked brains", and some merchants will put musk cats in cages in order to produce more musk cat coffee and force them to eat coffee beans. In this form of abuse, the number of musk cats becomes smaller and smaller. In pursuit of higher profits, some merchants even started the idea of civets (close relatives of musk cats) and let them produce "cat coffee" in the same way...
