Xinhua News Agency, Beijing, August 19 In order to buy a cost-effective motorcycle, Mexican Luis Ayala repeatedly compared between multiple brands, and finally chose a Chinese-made motorcycle, and after riding for a period of time, he became a loyal user of Chinese motorcycles.

"Mexicans generally have a good evaluation of Chinese motorcycles, Chinese motorcycles provide many styles, good design, performance and after-sales service are also guaranteed." Ayala told Xinhua news agency that the motorcycle is now inseparable from the trip.

Ayala feels the same way as Harcel Rodriguez, a Mexican businessman who has worked in China for 14 years.

At the end of 2007, Rodriguez joined it for italica, a Mexican company that sells Chinese motorcycles. A year later, he was sent to Linhai City, Zhejiang Province, to take charge of the maritime inspection of supplier products. The company assigned him a Motorcycle made in China.

Rodriguez still vividly remembers the feeling of riding a Chinese motorcycle for the first time: "The quality is beyond imagination, and the long-distance riding experience is good." He said that he wanted to immediately introduce Chinese motorcycles to more customers and friends.

Rodriguez is currently the Logistics Manager for Italica's Chongqing office. Today, Italica has about 70% of the Mexican motorcycle market and is the country's largest motorcycle company.

Chongqing is known as the "Capital of Automobile and Motorcycle", which is why Italica decided to develop its motorcycle business in Chongqing in the first place.

"If you want to grow a motorcycle business, you can't bypass China." Rodriguez said, "Over the years, China and Mexico have strengthened quality control cooperation, technology has continued to improve, the quality of Chinese motorcycles is getting better and better, and new models and designs have emerged. ”

Chinese motorcycles are of high quality, high price, diverse styles, and fashionable designs, which have increasingly won the favor of the Mexican market and consumers, and their sales volume has been growing.

"When we first came to China in 2008, we shipped back 800 containers of motorcycles to Mexico. In 2021, we shipped back more than 10,000 containers. ”

According to data from the General Administration of Customs of China, China will export about 11.93 million domestic gas turbine motorcycles in 2021, with an export value of about US$7 billion. In that year, China exported about 1.421 million fuel motorcycles to Mexico, with an export value of about US$734 million.

With the increase in market demand, more and more Chinese motorcycle brands have "gone to sea" in Mexico.

"Chinese motorcycles have high technical content and are trustworthy." Juan Garcia, marketing manager at Ascend Moto Mexico, said in an interview with Xinhua news agency in Mexico that as the understanding of the brand deepens, many Mexicans are willing to try to buy it. After the outbreak of the new crown epidemic, local consumers even chose to shop online without seeing a physical car, and sales exceeded expectations.

In addition to the Mexican market, several brands of Chinese motorcycles are also sold in Latin American countries such as Argentina, Peru, Bolivia, Ecuador and the Dominican Republic.

In order to adapt to the development of the new energy vehicle industry, China's electric motorcycles have also accelerated the pace of entering overseas markets. Jesús Padilla, who runs an electric motorcycle business in Mexico, said that in Mexico we are seeing more and more Chinese motorcycle brands, especially the rapid increase in the number of electric motorcycles.

In Padilla's view, the electrification of motorcycles is a vivid example of the continuous updating and optimization of "Made in China". "Over the years, the demand for high-quality products in the Mexican market has become higher and higher, China's manufacturing industry has been continuously transformed and upgraded, and the quality improvement of 'Made in China' just matches the demand for the ink market." He said.
