On this day in history: On August 16, 193 BC, Xiao He, the first minister of the Han Dynasty, died.

He assisted Liu Bang, recommended Han Xin, and composed the Nine Chapters of law, and together with Zhang Liang and Han Xin, he was known as the Three Masters of the Early Han Dynasty, and was also the head of the founding heroes of Liu Bangqin.

After Liu Bang's death, Xiao He continued to assist Emperor Hui, and eventually died in the post of chancellor, a rare founding hero with a good death.
