World Elephant Day was established to draw attention to elephants in distress. Global climate anomalies, increased human activities, and especially poaching pose a serious threat to the survival of elephants. There are only two genera and two species of elephants on Earth, namely Asian elephants and African elephants. Among them, african elephants are the largest terrestrial animals in the world today, weighing 4000 kg to 7000 kg and 300 cm to 450 cm tall.
