This is certainly a subversive Maldives

The recent wave of heat has abused countless people and verified the indisputable fact of global warming.
For most regions, it's just a matter of heat, but for some countries, it will be a disaster. For example, the famous Indian Ocean island country - Maldives.
If nothing else, because the Maldives is the lowest country in the world, 80% of the land area is less than 1 meter above sea level, and the average altitude of the whole country is only 1 meter.
As the global warming iceberg melts, sea levels are rising year by year, and the islands they inhabit are slowly "sinking" into the water...
Presumably, maldivian islands are expected to be uninhabitable by 2100 due to rising sea levels.
Forehead...... This, before I can go to this beautiful island country, I have not yet been able to punch in.
Of course, the Madai people felt the crisis earlier than we did. A decade ago, the government began planning to address the resettlement of residents after rising sea levels. This year, Maddah embarked on something that sounded a little incredible: building a city out of thin air at sea!
The plan is to build "the world's first truly floating island city" to provide tens of thousands of people with a living space to continue living at sea in the future.
This sci-fi-sounding approach may become one of the main forms of Maldivian habitation in the future...
Viewed from the air, this "floating island city" resembles a person's brain. Inside are countless hexagonal islands, which are said to be modeled after the geometry of local corals, called coral brains.
Closer up, these hexagonal islands are painted with colorful colors, and I have to say, they look strange!
Of course, the most magical thing about this island is the artificial coral embankment attached to the bottom of the floating city, which stimulates the growth of natural corals and forms a breakwater.
With the blessing of coral reefs, it can not only play a role in stabilizing the urban structure, but also prevent the residents in the city from experiencing "seasickness".

This "floating island city" is located in a lagoon in male, the capital of the Maldives, on a 10-minute boat ride.
The capital is Malé
The entire maritime city consists of 5,000 floating units, each of which will be mounted on a large underwater concrete structure and fixed to the seabed by telescopic steel, thus forming a whole.
As sea levels rise, so will the city.
The island has not only homes, shops and schools, but even canals.
The city will be mainly powered by solar energy, and sewage will be treated locally and reused as fertilizer for plants.
According to the plan, this "floating island city" can accommodate 20,000 people. Construction is scheduled to begin later this year, with residents moving in from 2024 onwards, with the entire project expected to be completed in 2027.
However, the price of such a man-made island is certainly not cheap, which can be seen in the house price.
According to the builders: Each beachfront residence measures 100 square metres, with a marina in front and a terrace on the roof. They start at $250,000.
Of course, high-end hotels, restaurants, trendy boutiques and world-class marinas are all likely to emerge, and the floating island city will also become a new tourist destination.

"This is the world's first true floating island city – a futuristic dream finally ready to come true."
"This one-of-a-kind island city offers a revolutionary approach to modern sustainable living against a blue Indian Ocean backdrop".
……
Although the outside world has sent countless praise words for this "floating island city", it is undeniable that this is really a helpless move. Because global warming is really changing our lives, even the fate of the planet.
The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change 's (IPCC) Sixth Assessment Report for 2022 notes that with the trend toward global warming of 2-3 degrees this century, many small island congresses like the Maldives have become completely uninhabitable.
The UN Climate Change Panel reports that "with global warming of 1.5°C, the world faces the inevitable multiple climate hazards over the next 20 years".
Like this year's rare hot days, in fact, it is already a warning from the earth, we should continue to turn a blind eye, or start from the small things around us to protect our only home...
