The whole park collects and cultivates wild species such as staghorn rhododendron and manshan red, and there are more than 200 varieties of rhododendrons such as hairy cuckoo, summer cuckoo, western cuckoo, and eastern cuckoo, with a total of 50,000 plants, of which the antler rhododendron is introduced from Lichuan Maoba in 1981 and is known as the "Wild Cuckoo King".
New, exotic and special species of rhododendrons come together here: the rare yellow deciduous rhododendron sheep heel, the "wild cuckoo king" antler rhododendron, the plain-colored white cuckoo "sharp-leaved rhododendron", the mini-type "Oriental rhododendron", the emerald-colored green cuckoo "green radiance" and so on.
In recent years, the Wuhan Botanical Garden has also strengthened the collection of wild rhododendron resources, adding a display of wild rhododendron resources such as rhododendron by the creek, rhododendron spinosaur, glandular calyx and honeysuckle.
Rhododendron garden, according to the uneven slope changes to plant subalpine rhododendrons, in the city to reproduce the growth environment of wild rhododendrons. Rhododendrons grow mostly in mountainous sparse shrublands or under pine forests, and in urban areas, this rhododendron originating from subalpine regions is rare.

This week, the azaleas of the Wuhan Botanical Garden as a whole entered the full blooming period, and the flowering period is expected to continue until the end of April. During the Rhododendron Show, the mist spray landscape will be open daily from 10:00 am to 12:00 am and from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm.
