In the PDA life of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle as former members of the royal family

author:A kite that can't be pulled

Since Prince Harry and Meghan Markle left the royal family in 2020, the royal couple has redefined their relationship in the public eye.

Without the limits of centuries of royal rules, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex changed the way they behaved in front of the camera.

The couple's frequent PDA moments surprisingly break with tradition – we see far more behind the scenes of Harry and Meghan's relationship than we see from Prince William and Kate Middleton.

After leaving the royal family, Harry and Meghan changed the way they behaved in public.

Previously, sweet exchanges between husband and wife were relatively rare. Now, at almost every public event they attend, we know gushing speeches, on-stage kisses and lovely handshakes.

In March 2020, just two months after announcing their resignation as senior members of the royal family, Harry and Meghan attended the Endeavour Foundation Awards in London.

The glowing couple had been holding hands and seemed like a sharp statement.

Freed from the shackles of the monarchy, Harry and Meghan can share their relationships with the world as they please.

A now iconic photo of the Sussex couple comfortably under umbrellas in the rain seems to indicate that members of the royal family are entering a new, modern phase of marriage.

At the 2021 Global Citizen Live Music Festival in New York's Central Park, Harry couldn't take his hand off his wife on stage.

In March 2020, fans caught a glimpse of their rejuvenated bond.

The two embraced each other, bathing in the glow of their new love in front of thousands of guests.

Harry and Meghan's body language is a relaxed couple, not the duke and duchess representing the royal family.

Body language expert Judy James told Express.co.uk at the time that sweet moments, such as holding hands and Megan's head resting on Harry's shoulder, were symbols of their unity.

"Freed from the shackles of the monarchy, Harry and Meghan can share their relationship with the world as they please."

"These rituals show that love and intimacy are still very active in marriage," she explains.

Harry and Meghan don't just express their love for each other through body movements.

After leaving the royal family, the Sussex couple were full of lyricism toward each other in their public speeches.

In February 2022, Harry spoke in a speech at the 53rd NAACP Image Awards about his wife's commitment to radicalism.

"I think it's safe to say that my background is very different from my incredible wife, but there's a reason we live," he said.

"We share a shared commitment to serving life, have a responsibility to fight injustice, and believe that the most often overlooked are the ones who deserve the most listening."

Megan looked lovingly at her husband and responded to this sentiment. "And I'm incredibly proud of the work we've done together."

Since independence from the royal family, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex's first invincible game of the year was also an occasion full of PDAs.

The two shared many intimate exchanges on stage and in front of the camera as they supported this incredible cause.

Harry and Meghan held hands and kissed openly on stage, gushing in their respective speeches.

At the opening ceremony, Megan gave a welcome speech for her husband, and the two kissed as Harry picked up the microphone.

Megan told the audience: "I couldn't have loved and respected him more, and I know all of you feel the same way because he's your veteran who served in Afghanistan twice and served for 10 years. ”

"He is the founder of Invincible Game and the father of our two children, Archie and Lily. Please welcome my incredible husband, Prince Harry, Duke of Sussex. ”

Then, in May, Harry and Meghan gave Royal fans more reason to believe their fairytale love story at a polo match in California.

When Meghan presented the trophy to Harry's polo team, the two became obsessed with PDA.

More recently, Harry and Meghan re-entered the public domain after a brief hiatus as they whirlwindly visited the UK for the Platinum Jubilee.

The couple traveled to New York to visit the U.N. headquarters, where Harry described his wife as his "soul mate" in an exciting speech.

Speaking about his love of Africa, the royal family said he was in love with Meghan.

"It's where I'm closest to my mother and seek comfort after her death, and I know I've found a soul mate in my wife," he gushed.

If Harry and Meghan were still senior members of the royal family, the Queen might not appreciate their PDA leanings.

According to Royal Etiquette Specialist Micah Meier, Her Majesty the Queen wants members of the royal family not to show too much affection in public.

"There is no actual etiquette or royal etiquette that requires [William and Middleton] to avoid using PDAs," she told People magazine in 2016.

"The couple will most likely show very little PDA and, if any, stay professional in their assigned role abroad."

Body language expert Robin Klemed also noted that the monarch abided by this unwritten rule, keeping his distance from Prince Philip while he was alive.

"The Queen rarely holds hands with her husband in public," Robin said. "This seems to set an unwritten precedent for other members of the royal family."
