There are 250 species of the world's most beautiful bees living in the Rainforest of the New World. The "orchid bees" are found in forests from Mexico to southeastern Brazil.

They are easily distinguishable from other bees because their tongues are very slender, equivalent to twice the length of their bodies, and have a shiny metallic color. They also have less fluff than most other bees.
