Wu Xiuxue is a villager in the Ma Duo group, who goes to the tobacco field every day to pick up cigarettes, and the salary is 100 yuan. "Now that there are more industries in the village, as long as you work hard, it is easy to make money."
"If you carefully identify it, the angle increases, the leaf tip droops slightly, the leaf surface has a greasy feeling, and it is greenish yellow, which indicates that it has matured and can be harvested." Yang Xiufei, agronomist director of the tobacco leaf unit of Dushan County Tobacco Branch, gave on-site guidance in the tobacco field.

"We started trial planting in 2017, 6 years ago, this year is the last year of the trial, has accumulated the formation of a cigar planting, drying, fermentation production system." Yang Xiufei introduced that there are currently 9 experimental strains, "This is Yunxue No. 1, this is Yunxue No. 2, the first trial this year, the performance is very good, there is a cigar style, you see, the leaves are thin, the color is uniform, and the rate of making eggplant is very high." "Eggplant is the most superficial layer of cigar smoke, the "appearance" requirements are very high, of course, the price is also very impressive.
"We are the first place in the province to successfully try to grow cigars, and there are few places in the country where cigars can be grown." Yang Xiufei introduced that cigar smoke and flue-cured tobacco are different, and the requirements for the geographical and climatic environment are higher, and the planting is more refined.

It is understood that the Dushan Mawei Experimental Area is located in the southern karst landform dam area, with an altitude of 850 meters, an average annual rainfall of about 1430mm, an average temperature of 26 °C during the growth period, and a frost-free period of about 290 days, which is a subtropical humid monsoon climate and is a suitable area for cigar cultivation.
"The growth of cigar smoke is related to latitude, altitude, rainfall, accumulated temperature, light, soil, wind speed, etc. The terrain of this place is like a small basin, and the microclimate is very obvious, especially during the growth period from May to June, the sun and rain alternate frequently, which is very suitable for cigar cultivation." Yang Xiufei said that other areas in the province have also tried to plant, but they have not succeeded, only in Dushan Mawei planted successfully, and the quality is very good.

According to the evaluation of the Industrial and Provincial Tobacco Science Institute, the leaves of Dushan cigar are thin and intact, the branches are delicate and not prominent, the appearance color is uniform, and the leaf toughness is good and the tension is strong; The leaves of the eggplant core have good looseness, more oil, obvious aroma characteristics, sweet and sweet flavor, and good overall quality.
It is understood that compared with flue-cured tobacco, cigar smoke has the characteristics of short field growth period and high economic benefits. Cigar smoke grows for about 50 days in the field, is picked and dried for 35 days, and then after 40 to 50 days of agricultural fermentation, it is naturally purified, and then industrial fermentation is carried out after the acquisition of industrial enterprises, and the taste is more pure.
After natural fermentation and purification, the tobacco leaves turn brown or dark brown
At present, the purchase guide price of cigar smoke is between 100-120 yuan per kilogram, and the maximum price of eggplant clothing can reach 300-400 yuan per kilogram. Under normal circumstances, the output value of mu can reach about 8,000 to 10,000 yuan.
"We have been exploring the best cigar cultivation techniques, such as the use of shade nets, which can effectively prevent insect pests, reduce plant lodging, reduce leaf thickness, and improve eggplant yield." Yang Xiufei introduced that after 6 years of experiments, Dushan County Tobacco Company has obtained 4 national patent technologies, published a total of 6 scientific research papers, and summarized a complete set of cigar production technology system.
