Plitvice National Park is one of the most famous national parks in Croatia and is also a UNESCO Natural Heritage Site, also known as Plitvice Lakes National Park. As the name suggests, there are 16 lakes within the national park, which are distributed in a strip in a north-south direction. For thousands of years, the water flowing through the lime city has been calcified and gradually deposited as a barrier of lime, forming a natural that blocks the lakes.
